I remember my first trip there and the thrill I had going to Phillies games. Especially when we could drive there ourselves and then bring our kids.

We're going 'round there today to take some last pictures and I'll be watching tomorrow morning.

Since the Phillies & Eagles NEEDED their own stadiums - they better produce this year and finally bring championships to the City!!!!

Oh, I'm going to miss the Vet. That is where I saw DMB for the first time!

I'm not so sure about those championships, though.

I remember when Vet stadium was being built! (lived within walking distance at the time.) It's not even that old!

My fist date with DH was at the Vet.

We are thinking of going there to watch it tomorrow morning.

Me too.
LOL either it isn't or we are!

(I am afraid we are)

Somebody please tell me that channel 6 is simulcasting the implosion on the net. I'm stuck in VA and won't be anywhere near it tomorrow morning. I was hoping so bad to be there in person to see it.

What time is it supposed to happen?

Thanx.

RIP Vet

It's supposed to happen at 7 am Sunday.

I am SO amused at all the sports fans around here being misty-eyed and nostalgic. When the idea of 2 NEW stadiums came up they were referring to the Vet as a Dinosaur, a Dump and worse.

I think it's a crime that a building less than 35 years old is now considered TRASH.

And what about the underfunded Philly schools??

Don't get me started!!!!!!

I'll be watching...I have some nice memories of the Vet :)

I was there for the last game, it was something that will always be remembered. The Phillies site has some good pictures and video of the implosion.

I was down there for a Phantoms game Sunday evening. It's WEIRD down there now. Like a hole in the scenery. There was a steady stream of people coming by to gawk and take pictures of the rubble.
