Anyone watching the SATC reboot? Major spoiler inside...

This is what I think. I think they knew this was coming. This is probably why they killed him off quickly. Kind of makes sense now.
Yikes. This won't be the last one, I'm sure. This guy was busy.

I wonder why Queen Latifah didn't seem to know about the rumors about Chris Noth? She's an executive producer for The Equalizer. So, she'd have some say in the casting of her series. She seems street smart and saavy. I would have thought she or someone on that team would have heard about Noth and have said that casting him was a possible explosion waiting to happen. :confused3

His role was small. He'd usually only show up during the last 5 minutes of the show or a couple minutes here and there. He was one of her mentors. What's ironic is that only in the last episode before the Thanksgiving break, did they have a full episode that really focused on Noth's character. We finally got some personal details about his character.

I wonder if the show purposely kept his character small and mysterious, in the background, in case things exploded. Then after a season and a quarter, they thought they were safe? But, why take the chance? There are plenty of tall, good looking, alpha male actors who want to be series regulars in NYC.

I just don’t like, he might be guilty. Or not. But people can come forward and say whatever and guilty or not, his life is over.

The latest episode was snooze fest. The most exciting part was the text exchange with Samantha. I think everyone is really starting to realize how much Kim Cattral carried the show (no pun intended).

Speaking of Samantha... If anyone watches Emily in Paris (also a Darren Star production) twitter is going crazy saying there is going to be a crossover where Emily moves to London with Alfie and goes to work for Samantha. All speculation of course, but wouldn't that be great.

I read today that all talks of a second season of AJLT are halted because of the Chris Noth thing. It would be too hard for the show to bounce back at this point, especially with the overall lukewarm reviews.

I was not crazy about the episode. I don't like what they are doing with Miranda and Steve. Don't like the Miranda/Che pairing. Don't like that they made Steve so pathetic. Also don't like Miranda having a drinking problem.

I like that Carrie is strong and independent. At the end, we jumped ahead 3 months.

I liked the text exchange with Samantha. They really need her, the magic only works with the four of them.

Totally agree with all your observations. It's just not working on so many levels.

I disagree. Loved every episode so far. Hated the Samantha character and don’t miss her at all. Carrie carries the show IMO.
Samantha was always bit more of a cartoonish character with no depth.

Not sure why Chris Noth would have any impact on a 2nd season as he’s not in the show any longer.

Clearly I’m in the minority, because I loved this episode! I hope they have a second season, because it feels like they’re getting back in to the groove. The lunch conversation was classic SATC.

I think everyone is looking back on the old series with rose coloured glasses, because there were definitely some stinker episodes. I like the way they are taking the show. Of course Miranda and Steve are different from before, they’re in their 60s now. I know my parents weren’t going to the hottest clubs night after night a decade ago. Granted, part of that is because it isn’t their lifestyle, but in their 30’s, it was.

I have a very sneaking suspicion that we’re going to see Samantha. It may be only a passing glance, but I think there’s some magic that’s being kept under wraps. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking, and I may have to eat my words, but we’ll see.

And just like that, I look forward to Thursdays to see the newest episode.

I honestly really look forward to Thursdays now, too. I just didn't think this episode was great. I've seen the original series over and over again in its entirety. I do remember some stinkers but even the bad ones were still good.

I do really dislike that they made Steve and even Harry so far from what they were originally. It's like they want everyone to forget the spark both of those couples had in the original series. It's sad.

I guess the network sees it as bad business right now?

i didn’t watch the show, but did two and a half men take a season off because of the whole Charlie Sheen debacle? I can’t think of other shows off the top of my head but I guarantee there’s others that would fit the criteria and weren’t off the air for a season. It’s not like the show is called the ‘Chris Noth is a moral beacon show’

I looked it up and it went off the air in 2004! That’s almost 18 years ago. Are you the exact same as you were 18 years ago or have you slowed down?

I called it! Knew they were going to introduce a Miranda/Che relationship the minute they cast S. Ramirez 👍🏼
And I feel so much like Charlotte when she feels she’s saying the wrong things. My 25 year old has to keep correcting me on gender identities for some of her friends. 😔

I really don't think so. Kim Cattrall has been pretty clear about her views. I suppose there could be someone who looks like Samantha from behind or something.

I think they did a good job with Charlotte's character. I like that she is kind of "out of touch" with what's going on. I like that they are exploring the Rose/Rock storyline and what impact it has on Charlottes family. Charlotte still has her flair, she still dresses impeccably, volunteers on boards, is loyal to her friends and family. Yet she is trying to be flexible, optimistic and sensitive.

I guess I am just disappointed with Miranda and Steve (and Brady LOL). I liked their love story and that scene on the bridge where they had to decide to stay together and move forward, or part ways for good was so intense. When they both showed up it was so moving. I guess I had been rooting for them to make it. To see what they turned into was a little disappointing to me. I understand they had to make them be in a bad place so Miranda would be drawn to Che. We'll see how it plays out.

I do hope they get a second season, I think they have stories to tell and will hit their groove. I like Carries realtor, Seema. I wonder if she will become the "Samantha" of the group.

I read that the newest episode was cut short by several minutes compared to the other episodes.
People speculating that there were some flashback scenes with Big and Carrie that may have been cut out.
I believe they went to France to film some flashbacks of the two of them and now looks like they will not air any of it.

The Rose/Rock storyline exploration is pretty close to being spot on.

Total Samantha response. That would be awesome if she’s on Emily in Paris. Love that show. She would fit nicely.

Miranda WT*! That by far was very 😬 . The empathy in me felt so bad for Carrie. As far as Miranda goes, I remembered when Carrie walked in on Samantha giving and then Samantha later walked in on Stanford receiving. So the Miranda setup makes sense and wasn’t all that shocking when I reflected. Just felt so bad for Carrie still. Maybe it was needed for Miranda. That spark to change and pursue what she truly wants out of her life. Being that it was Carrie’s boss, maybe Carrie will get the push to branch off and have her own podcast and/or back to writing a column again.

I’ve always liked Anthony so I’m hoping he gets more screen time. I also like Carrie’s realtor Seema too.
