Anyone watched the new Ariel dvd yet?

My kids are watching it right now for the 3rd time in less than 24 hours! Both DD6 & DS5 really enjoy it. Be aware, though, that is does explain what happened to Ariel's mom so they will probably find that sad but Disney loves to kill off the moms so that's nothing that hasn't appeared in other movies.

It does have the original voice of Ariel, Jodi Benson, and the visual quality is great!

Who has the best price on it? I want to get it for my DD and didnt know how much it was going for.

Walmart and Sam's have one that comes with a really cute brush and comb set. The brush set is some sort of exclusive deal for those stores only. Also if you buy Sleeping Beauty and Tinkerbell sets with the extras at Walmart when they come out too, then you can send off for a free Tinkerbell box that looks like it might be pretty cute. The brush is a good one too. It works great on my daughter's hair. I think it was $15.99 without the brush set and $19.99 with it, but I'm not sure on the price because I sent my husband out to get it last night instead of going myself.

We got it on Tuesday and it was a big hit with all three of my kids. Even the boys. They really got a kick out of the Manatee, Flounder and Sebastian.
They have watched it a few times since.
We picked up Nightmare before Christmas today. Believe it or not, I have never seen it. We are going to watch it tomorrow.

How is it?

Well, take my opinion knowing this. I LOVE TLM, our youngest daughter is named after one of Ariel's sisters and her middle name is Arielle (spelled different, yes, but still Ariel. But I bought it Tuesday morning. We couldn't wait to watch it and we loved it. Not like I like the original, but very sweet. The only thing I missed was I was hoping to find out why Ursula was the way she was. But I loved it all the same....

My kids 4 and 6 were bored. They said it was o.k.

Thank goodness we rented it from Netflix, because we won't be buying it.

We watched it last night with our DD....and she loved it...except after it was over, she has a million and 1 questions about Ariel's mommy and what happened to her. She's 4 and very sensitive...she kept crying that she was worried about Ariel's mommy and was upset that she died!

My 7YO was bothered by it, too. She didn't say anything about it while watching it, but at bedtime it was her yuck thing of the day. That's usually the time when I get the stuff that she's been celebrating and/or bothering her the most, so I pay close attention to what I hear at bedtime.

Can't get that out of my head! :lmao:

I picked it up Tuesday at Target for 15.99. We have a 5 hour car ride on Wednesday, so I surprised the girls (6.5 and 3) with it then. They watched it 2.5 times in the car!! :happytv: Happy kids = happy mommy driving alone. :goodvibes I haven't watched it yet, but they did tell me that they are skipping the scene where Ariel's mom dies (much like we do with Nemo.) They love it!

We bought it and DD got bored halfway through and wanted to turn it off to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas!
