Anyone watched the new Ariel dvd yet?

My 2 1/2 yo was watching it this morning. She likes the music in it and kept dancing. I was doing laundry so I only caught a few minutes here or there. She loves to dance and seemed very happy with it. If I get to watch it I'll come back and give a review.

My 6 yr old son loves it he has been watching it since we got it.

just bought it today. Won't watch it till the plane ride on the 20th of Sept. DD is going to be doubly excited. First the trip then to get the new movie.:)

My 2 1/2 yo couldn't stop dancing either. It was really cute. I only watched a few minutes and thought it was alright. Now I have to wait a few weeks until they rerelease Little Mermaid 2.

I was planning on picking it up this weekend for dd. She has been flipping over the commericals. Glad do know so far all the kiddos like it.

My mom bought it for the kids yesterday. We will be watching it this afternoon when we get back from our API meeting. My 3 yr old dd and 2 yr old princess-crazed ds are super excited!

I watched it with DS 4 and my 6 yo niece. (even though DS hates princesses Ariel is okay!)
Both kids loved it.
It was a tiny bit scary in parts, but not too bad.
The movie was fun though. DS was dancing too.

We watched it last night with our DD....and she loved it...except after it was over, she has a million and 1 questions about Ariel's mommy and what happened to her. She's 4 and very sensitive...she kept crying that she was worried about Ariel's mommy and was upset that she died!

We rented it on Tuesday my 6 and 5 year old loved it. They said the music was great. They watched it in the car so I didn't see any of it but I heard it and it sounded pretty good.

My 2 year old watched it as well and seemed to enjoy it.

Although within the first 5 minutes my 6 year old wanted to know why King Triton sounded different.

We watched it 3 times last night...we love it! (Although my daughter did get emaotional in the beginning.) I could not wait to purchase because it got me enough points on Disney Movie Rewards to order the Little Mermaid original release poster for Christmas!

Not enough money for that DVD, because I bought the rerelease of Nightmare Before Christmas. However, I like the clips I saw on youtube.

When you guys are talking about Ariel's mother dying, does that mean that I need to forward the first part before I let my 2 year old watch it like we do with Nemo or Tarzan? We are very careful about "those" parts of Disney movies as she is extremely sensitive to that type of thing. Normally I watch stuff first, but we bought it yesterday and she is begging to watch it tonight.

DD turned 7 the day it was released and we exchanged a duplicate gift DVD to get it. She is emotional and cried when Ariel's mom died. But they watched it again the next day and she was okay. I'm not sure if you should skip past it or not because the beginning part where she is alive is very happy and fun.

Maybe when you see the ship approaching the mother, you could distract her for a few moments? Except for that sad part, it is less scary than Little Mermaid and LM2 because the "bad lady" is nowhere near as bad as Ursula and Morgana.

Does anybody else get a kick out of Benjamin the manatee? I just love his calm demeanor.

Thanks so much!!! You were a great help! Okay- I've got it- see ship- get her turned around and fast forward! We don't have Little Mermaid 2- when we watch the original she always tells me to fast forward when Ursula is on. I made the mistake of trying to get her ready for the possibly scary parts of her first trip to WDW in a few months by telling her about all the good characters she will meet and then saying but there might be two shows where we will see Ursula for just a few minutes but it won't be very long and in one, it's just Mickey's dream and Mickey will chase her away. For two days she no longer wanted to go to Disney at all. OOPS! Luckily now she says "When I see Ursula, I'm going to tell her to BE NICE!"

It's actually only really implied that she dies and it may be a little over a 2 year old's head. My son assumed she went to take care of the pirate's kids. We went with that.
