Has anyone watched Illuminations from the Matsu No Ma lounge? How was it? Would it be hard to get a table to view Illuminations? I'd like to take my DH for sushi and a cocktail, and then watch Illuminations. We usually get an outside table at the Rose & Crown, but I'd like to try something different this trip...and he really likes sushi. Any thoughts??

Thanks!

We ate at Matsu Ma in August, right before Illuminations, arriving about 1 hour prior to the start, and had no trouble getting a window seat. However, we found that we enjoyed hearing as well as seeing Illuminations, so when we were done, we went out and stood on the balcony around the Japanese pavillion, right in front of Matsu Ma, and found it to be a wonderful vantage point!

This is where my family usually watches Illuminations. We've never had a problem getting a window seat. We usually get there around an hour ahead of time (8pm). It's "seat yourself", so you can just loiter around waiting for people to vacate their window seats.

They do not pipe in the sound, and you really can't hear the Illuminations music at all from in the lounge. We don't mind, but I thought you might want to know. Also, they stop food and drink service at 9pm -- once Illuminations starts, they stop taking orders. You can continue to sit in the lounge until you are finished eating (or until Illuminations finishes -- whichever comes last!).
