Anyone watch The Tudors...

And I thought the world was crazy now. King Henry the 8th was ruthless :scared1:

Hey, what was that creepy thing on his leg??:confused3 Did that happen last season and I missed it?

That creepy thing was a severe injury he sustained, which ultimately morphed him from eye-candy to the gargantuan, bloated image we are all too familiar with today. It looks like they may TRY to adhere to history in that respect. He gets very unsexy and that might be bad for ratings. They've got the despot part right.

I watched this last week On Demand. This season looks good. It seems like we'll get to see his marriage to Ann of Cleves, which costs Cromwell his head. His marriage to Catherine Howard would make for good drama if they decide to do a 4th season.

I think I might be addicted. I'm watching it for the 3rd time tonight.:rolleyes1

It is definitely my favorite show, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers is definitely easy on the eyes.

History (sort of) and good looking men! Woo hoo!

Hi Aussie!!!!! You were the one who got me hooked on this show. I saw tonight's episode last week; they were doing some free preview (probably hoping all the women would get a look at Jonathan Rhys Meyers and become instantly addicted and be willing to pay for Showtime).

I must admit, this is the only reason I still have my Showtime subscription.

When I was in London a few months ago, I got to see the spot where Ann Bolyn was executed. Way cool.

You all will be singing a different tune when they get to season 10 and it is Henry on his 6th wife and he has ozing boils and gout....

I love this show.

I saw Meyers in August Rush this weekend. It's a great movie to rent.

Forget Jonathan Rhys Meyers....give me Henry Cavill!!!

Thank you very much...Cavill is the best eye candy on the show! :cloud9:

I'm so glad it's finally on again, seems like it's been forever. I popped popcorn last night...grabbed my favorite quilt...kicked DH out from in front of the big screen...started a fire (in the fireplace ;))...and cozied up with the craziest King on TV! popcorn::

I know!! I was thinking about that last night when they showed the festering wound. :scared: That's one place they could take some artistic liberty with the facts and it would be okay with me.

Hey Pakey! Good to see you again! It's the only reason I have a showtime subscription myself. How awesome that you got to see the spot where she was executed.!

Looks like this season will focus more on what is going on in all of England and not just the palace.

Oh, and I agree, Henry Cavill is my other favorite thing about the show!:thumbsup2 That and the gorgeous costumes.:lovestruc

We love the Tudors (and not for the eye candy). The history might not be completely accurate (or at all in some cases) but it is certainly entertaining. :)

I just finished watching Season 2. It is definitely one of my faves. I don't have Showtime, maybe I'll have to subscribe!!
Karenos;)

Episode 3 was on Showtime On Demand. I watched it before Episode 2. LOL...a little confusing but not too bad.

I'm seeing lots of characters who figure heavily in situations with his later marriages and even Queen Mary's reign, so hopefully, the series will be going that far.

I like the guy they have playing Cardinal Pole.

Has anyone read Alison Weir's books? I'm thinking of reading some of her royal biographies.
