It is a few hours from me, but I have never stayed there. It is beautiful, and on Sundays they have a wonderful champagne brunch. It's really a neat place to visit, but I just don't think I'd want to stay there. There is one room where "Michael", a stone mason who fell to his death during the construction of the hotel, is known to visit. I can't remember the room number, but the front desk staff told me that there is a two year waiting list of folks who want to stay in that room. Not me!!! I went upstairs and asked a housekeeper if I could see in one of the rooms she was cleaning, and she allowed me in. It appeared very old, kind of musty smelling, not somewhere I'd want to stay. But the lobby and grounds are beautiful. It was once a "hospital" where a "doctor", who was not a doctor at all claimed to cure cancer with the mineral spring waters there. Many died and the basement was a morgue. I think that's where they spotted the "spirit" last night. Also, an apparition of a nurse pushing a medicine cart has been spotted at times on one of the floors. I thought last night's episode was very exciting, and I think the TAPS staff did also!
