Anyone watch Skating with Celebrities?

My husband was doing the switch channel thing. I got to watch it between the Barret-Jackson Auction on the Speed channel.

So what are the rules?

And, I was pretty impressed with all the skaters. Did Todd Bridges fall down in the end. I didn't think so, but my husband said he did, he just made it look good.

Will probably watch again as DD's thought it was fun...still really think they should have only gotten people who had no experience - it was very obvious and doesn't seem right. I would much rather watch "Deborah", Todd, and Bruce improve than the others because they are really starting from scratch. It's very painful to watch!!

We watched it and enjoyed it. My husband doesn't like reality tv either but he enjoyed this one because he said skating's such a hard thing to master. We really enjoyed Jillian Barbarie and her partner the most. Todd and Jennie were cute together. He did an orchestrated thing at the end that didn't work right so he tried to salvage it. He was supposed to be on the ice, I think but not in the pose that he ended up in!
:cheer2:

Okay - I am truly a reality show junkie(althought wont watch the bachelor or shows like that) and did watch celebrity skating. Not the best of shows but did enjoy some of the skaters. didnt really like Dave Colier much but I didnt really like him on full house or any show of his afterwards. I dont know if I will go out of my way to tape the show though...

I think that it is pathetic that Fox can't come up with its own shows, they just copy everything on ABC. I did have to watch Skating with Celebrities though, because I'm a skater myself. I think that it was ok, but could have been better. Hopefully the upcoming episodes will be more entertaining.

I thought the show was fun. But I did notice how some of the stars had more experience on ice then others... you could tell who had done it before. It was still cute to watch and i'll watch again next week.

We got sucked in....left the tv on Fox after American Idol and before I knew
it I was hooked.....I thought it was entertaining!!!!

I liked it. I thought Tod Bridges was really good. Entertaining at least, I know he messed up a few times. I didn't like Dave and Nancy's routine though. And I don't like the one British Simon-Cowell-wannabe judge. Why is there a need to rip these people to shreds? It's just for fun. I'm surprised he found anything good to say about anyone.

I think my husband only watched to see if Jillian Barberie would experience her own "wardrobe malfunction"! Who is she, anyway?

I found it entertaining. I mainly watched it just to see Tai Babilonia. She's still so beautiful to watch (as Sir John Nicks mentioned.)

We watched it. My kids really wanted to see Dave Coulier. they love him. It was entertaining and we will probably watch again.

Yeah, but thats just his real personality, if you watch him at any of the real skating competitions you will find that he is a very serious, tough coach.

I watched it too. Found it very entertaining! I really wanted to see both Tai Babalonia & Lloyd Eisler, they are among my favorites but I truly enjoyed it all. Taken in the spirit it was done in, it was just plain fun to see!

This show really grows on you. Last night's episode was even better than week one. I've got to say that Jillian Barberie has a bit of an advantage though. Didn't she have quite a bit of skating experience before this show? She is so much better than any of the others. She's almost better than her profession partner!

I agree with the couple who got voted off although I really liked them too. I certainly thought Todd had made the most improvements. Imagine, he never skated before this show! And Jenni Meno is a joy to watch.

I'm still rooting for Kristie and Lloyd to take it all. While I'm sure the camera is making Kristie look heavier than she really is, she's still an arm full and Lloyd spun her around like she was nothing. He is one strong dude.

Anyone else hooking on this show??

ETA: The Fox site has a poll on which celebrity would you like to see on this show. Simon from AI is one of the choices and needless to say he is waaaaaay out in front. That would be a riot! :lmao:

Yes, she has competitive skating experience. She competed as a child. Her layback spin last night was really lovely.

I was actually kind of sorry to see Todd Bridges and Jenny Meno go. They were fun to watch and Todd was definitely the most improved. If he wouldn't have fallen, I'm sure Deborah Gibson and Kurt Browning would have been out. There was no spunk to their routine at all. Well, there's always next week!

And yes, I'm getting hooked too. I really like Scott Hamilton and Summer Sanders. They're doing a great job.

DD and I are hooked. My favorites so far are Jillian/Kurt and Kristie/Lloyd.

BTW, I really only noticed the footwork with Kristy and Lloyd. Did all the other pairs do it? I"m sure they did but it didn't stand out to me at all.

Did Nancy recently have a baby? Her costumes seem to be hiding her figure.

My daugher is a huge "Full House" fan and is pulling for Nancy and Dave.

I was wondering the same thing about Nancy...........and also what has Bruce Jenner done to his face? Looks like a face lift gone amuck or something odd, kinda gives me the creeps looking at him.Jillian and her partner seem to have a chemistry together they almost look like a couple.

I'm trying to remember, did he coach nicole bobek? I remember seeing him on the sidelines at competitions but can't remember with who.

John Nicks coached Tai and Randy when they competed in the 1980 Olympics. :)
