It was about the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire scandal in UK....they had a cough system going on where he coughed out the right answer right on cue....They are SOO guilty! What do you think?

How did the person coughing know the correct answer?

That's a good question. They said that the person who was coughing was a teacher -- maybe he was a very smart teacher?

I thought the segment about the guy who won the money on "Whammy" (I think it is ... it's the show with the lights that goes around) was interesting. I don't think he was cheating; he was just smart enough to figure out the system.

I totally agree! If the show was dumb enough to put a pattern and he was smart enough to figure it out, he deserves the money!

For WWTBAM....there was the contestant (a major), his wife (who never smiled) and a professor. They must have all been somewhat smart to know the answers, I agree. But not one of them knew all...they worked together. They are all game show groupies...her brother called to get on the show 17,000 times!! Thats crazy. I think they're big scam artists, and to me, that was cheating.

I also thought 'Guilty'!!!

However, the person coughing (The guy in the fastest finger seat) was also in the hotseat some time after the 'Major' and he only made it to $8,000 pounds or something like that! So, if he's so smart...how come he couldn't help himself?? I think there's more to it...maybe someone was 'helping' him and the wife....who in turn helped the Major???

I didn't hear about the brother (I was switching back and forth between "Primetime" and "Will & Grace" for a while). In that case, it sounds to me like they were waiting for an opportunity to cheat the system.

Maybe the professor purposely blew his game to throw off any suspicion. But more than likely, he just didn't have two people helping him out.

As it was, with the major, they only cheated on a few of the questions. Not all of them. Plus if you recall, for one question, the professor wasn't quite sure and even asked another contestant the answer before doing his coughing thing.

I forget, did they all get suspended sentences?

I personally thought the wife was NO help in trying to convince the public that they were wrongfully accused! And the way the husband kept looking towards her before he would answer Diane's questions at times, make me think she is running that ship LOL

Yeah, I think they cheated, it is all too coincidental when the "coughs" happened.

A question as I too was switching back and forth, how did the large amount of pager calls on their bill fit in? Were they cheating with pagers on them or something? Missed that part. Thanks

I saw it. The coughing was so obvious. As someone else said the professor even had to get help with one of the questions. The wife only helped with one--out of desperation because the professor obviously didn't know the answer and her DH was going to guess wrong so she jumped in a started the coughing thing. The show was on to them but needed to get their ducks in reow to out them. That "major" was pretty dumb. I thought the professor helped with more than just a few questions.

They never explained what, if anything the pager calls AND the brother-in-law with the cell phone had to do with it. It could be that the professor had the pagers on him.

DH and I watched the show last night. They definitely seem guilty. It seemed to us that the show shouldn't have lasted for two hours. We were very interested and stayed with it, but it seemed a bit repetitive.

Well, I wanted to watch, but *sigh* we had severe weather in our area again and weather pre-empted everything on all the local stations. I'm not upset that the programing was interrupted, I'm just sick of the severe weather!
