Anyone want to share thoughts on Whispering Canyon Cafe

WE ate there 2 years ago. The food was good. We had fun, and I LOVE the milkshakes. They boxed the dessert up for us to go.

It gets very mixed reviews but I've been twice and loved it both times. I shared the skillet with my mom and we loved it all...and others at the table tried various items from the menu and loved them as well. The smores cheesecake was fantastic!

Service is great - it's very loud and crazy there, and you never know what is going to happen....if you are looking for a nice quiet dinner WCC is not the place for you!!

We were just there for our first time two weeks ago, and we were pleasantly surprised! I was hesitating on going with the mixed food reviews. We loved the pasta dish, and the skillet was decent. The funny antics are amusing. It did get loud in the restaurant. We would probably go back again. I'm glad we tried it!

We love WCC, it is DH's favorite place to eat at WDW.

The atmosphere is fun, the wait staff are creative with the way they take care of you. ;) They play around with you and do antics. My husband loves to have his glass refilled a few times so they come out with the gallon jar and throw straws at him to build his own straw! LOL

The food is good as well. He always gets the skillet, loves it all and eats like a pig! LOL I usually get the ribeye and it is very good. Very flavorful and tender.

All in all we have a good time, we have good food and we are close to MK.

We went here back in June and it was great. Both the men in our party LOVED it!!! Lol.

My family is in the minority - we tried WCC and likely won't be going back. The antics were interesting but not worth the trip to Wilderness Lodge. The food was so-so. We'd eat there again if we were staying at the Lodge and wanted a meal in our hotel but woudn't make a trip to the Lodge just to eat.

By the way, a PP mentioned sharing the skillet - I wouldn't count on that as my understanding from asking our server was that since it is an "all you care to eat" choice, it cannot be shared. My daughter and I wanted to share because neither of us is a big eater and seeing a single platter go out, it looked like plenty for the two of us! Especially since she planned to enjoy the bottomless milkshake. Maybe if we had ordered the skillet we would have enjoyed the food more since that is what people generally rave about.

Did it in September of 2008 and it has joined Hollywood & Vine as a Disney restaurant that you could not pay us to go back to. Terrible, disgusting food and horrible service. Flame Tree Barbecue, a counter service, has much better food.

I always enjoyed it when I was staying at WL, but never enough to make a special trip for it. I will make a special trip to go to Kona.

Maybe on a rest day. Food was just so-so (except childrens salmon which was great!) and we were soooooo tired, so instead of fun, the antics were loud and disturbing to us. Loved seeing the lodge, it was beautiful.

We ate lunch there in Aug and the food was fatty and greasy and just blech.

We have been there twice and really enjoy it:thumbsup2. It does get loud, but the antics are fun. We really enjoy the food as well--especially the Barbeque pork spring rolls.

In a word- YUCK. We went in Sept 09 and regretted our choice. Here's why:

wait time- we waited for over 30 minutes for our ADR, and then they attempted to squeeze our party of 6 into two small round tables pushed together (round tables really don't go together to make one larger table!). We insisted on a "normal" table and they gave us attitude.

Service: Slow. Considering how many people are ordering that skillet, you would think they could speed it up. No creative and fun hijinx, it was the same exact "we need ketchup" joke done over. and over. and over. and of course, the one great big fork. Our kids didn't even find it amusing.

Volume: loudest place we ate at in Disney.

Food: mediocre at best.

Definitely not worth the money.

We've eaten there twice, the first time(2 years ago), we got the skillet and thought that the meat, corn bread & salad were very good (we didn't try the beans or corn). We went back this past August, ordered the skillet, and thought that the salad & corn bread were good..the meat was not good at all.

We are not going back.

This was our meals that last time there. We had great food. The antics were just extra to us. We have always enjoyed the WCC as well as our teens.

We are there in Dec. and we enjoyed the food. We both ordered the skillet. I really wanted to see the WL at Christmas and I enjoyed the atmosphere, even though it can be loud when they start yelling for ketchup, but loved sitting at the table with a view of the lobby and the Christmas tree.

And we thought the skillet was good. I would give a try at least once.

DH and I really like WC. We have gone twice and will probably go again. We have no kids and don't really like eating with all the antics so we always ask for the back room. There are 5 or 6 tables off to one side of the loby that are more quiet than the rest. The food has always been good when we were there and we love WL so if you like the crazy atmosphere and have kids, pick the main room. If not, you have a slightly quieter choice in the back room.
