Just back from a week-long stay at BWV last week. We LOVED it! The staff was friendly and helpful, the location was too cool for words, our room was great, and the weather was (mostly) really nice. BTW, I've decided to stop worrying about planning our winter getaways to Florida based on when we might get the best weather. Our friends were there in Jan. and had 80-degree temps and we were there two months later and were lucky to get above 70. Which is actually great for being in the parks. We were very happy that the pools were warm this time!

Speaking of pools, the four kids (and us parents) loved the clown slide. It didn't occur to any of us to be freaked out by the clown, thank goodness. DH and I even managed to sip a pina colada by the pool while the kids played. I liked that we could keep an eye on everyone pretty easily. The only negative thing was when a group of people parked themselves in the hot tub (spa?) for OVER AN HOUR and wouldn't get out. Eventually, I politely asked how much longer they would be (I was emboldened by the fact that half of my family had colds and we wanted to warm up). They said a few more minutes, but then didn't budge. I guess manners don't automatically come with money.:confused3

Was the hallway particularly long? No one in our group minded and, anyway, the more walking, the more opportunities to burn off our daily Mickey Bar Ice Cream (which we had to get to use up our snack credits).

I wasn't sure if my DH would like the bustle of the Boardwalk, but he really enjoyed it. He and our two oldest (9 and 7) all stated that they would like to stay at this hotel again. (Actually, they really want to stay at the Poly, where we celebrated my dad's 60th birthday...Ohana's is a GREAT place to celebrate a birthday, BTW.) The kids loved the performers and the surrey bike ride. DS5 went nuts over the boats. I rather like the Polo Ralph Lauren feel of the Beach Club;), but I would submit to a majority vote.

Jellyrolls was a blast as always, we enjoyed Spoodles (for breakfast and dinner), the Boardwalk Bakery was great. I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about the DDP. I signed us up because I thought it would make things easier, sort of like being at an all-inclusive resort. But the truth is that I had to think a lot about who took the plan and who didn't. And my DS9 got tired of the kids' menu pretty quickly. So we'll have to think about it some more for next time.

We would stay at BWV again in a heartbeat. We were so happy with the amenities, the location, the staff, and the overall atmosphere of the Boardwalk. Feel free to ask questions about anything!

I'm glad you had such a great stay at BWV. Was your DDad staying at the Poly? Did you get some time in the hot tub? I hope so.

Thanks for the positive report, my DH and I will be there in September for a Mommy and Daddy only trip. We can't wait to be in the middle of it all.

Thanks for the good BWV trip report. We'll be there for a brief stay at the beginning of May, and are looking forward to it.

We've always enjoyed our stays at BWV -- glad you had a nice time, as well. It is a really pretty resort!

My parents were with us at BWV in a 2-bedroom, which worked out really well. We'd had dinner at Ohana's when DS9 was an infant, and I thought my dad would love it for his birthday. I wouldn't stay at the Poly for a week (two rooms for our family of 6, with no living room or washer/dryer:scared1:), but my dream is to take the kids on a Disney cruise in a couple of years and stay at the Poly for a few nights. I've started a brand-new savings jar!

We did get to use the hot tub on another day; it's just that on the day in question, the air was a little chilly. Which is probably why those people wouldn't budge!

I forgot to mention that we ended up taking a taxi to Ohana's. A van was waiting right outside, so we didn't even have to call for one, and it took the 8 of us to the Poly for about $12. Which was totally worth it because that gave us more time at Typhoon Lagoon (awesome!) and we didn't have to stress about making it on time for our ressies. So thanks for the advice, crisi!

My DH and I will be staying at BW in 2 weeks for the first time. Can't wait! I read where the quiet pool is being rehabed. Is that going on right now?

This quote is exactly how my family feels too. We are members at SSR, and we love it there. We stayed at BWV's in October 2006, and it was a great location with the F&W fest going on at Epcot. Our daughter loved walking around the Boardwalk in the evenings and watching all the performers. A great atmosphere!

We want to hit the other resorts we have not stayed at yet, but we will get back there someday!

Glad to hear that you had a great stay at the BWV ;-) We are headed there in June for SWW.

Thanks so much for the great positive report! We are awaiting closing on a BWV unit and can't wait to make our first trip home.

Hmmm...I only saw the quiet pool once (our kids aren't exactly quiet pool material, if you know what I mean), and that was when we were walking back from MGM one night (a very nice walk, BTW). I didn't notice anything going on, but it was 10pm, and this was a week ago. Maybe it just started up?

Anyone else know about this?
