Anyone want to help me "guesstimate" cab fares?

Disclaimer: I know that fares can vary depending on traffic, but was looking for "ballpark" figures:

1) Swan to WWoS
2) WWoS to Boardwalk
3) Swan to AK
4)Swan to MK

you know disney has buses to ak and mk from swan i know you might not like the buses but to mk they will be better because they drop you off in front of the park. The taxi will drop you off at ttc and then you will hve to transfer to the monoril or ferry. By the way their free so you have more to spend in the parks or for dining.

I'm bringing down some of my students - and on a few days we need to be at the parks well before opening - so I don't want to play the game of RISK that is Disney Transportation, :)

I do not know how close you are looking to guestimate the cab fares, but estimates are usually $15 to $20 per ride.

It's about 4 miles from the Swan to the TTC and about 3 miles to AK. So I would guess that it's about $15 to AK and about $20 to MK from the Swan (including tip).

you my want to think about taking the cab to the contempory then walking to mk it might coast a little more but might save you some time. you dont want to ge to the ttc nd the monorail to be having problems.

Good idea...what about taking a cab to the GF and then taking the monorail (I know this assumes it's working)

that good too because wheir they drop you off at the ttc your almost closer to the poly. And you have to think if it emh they wont run the express monorail so it just be the resorts and they like to keep the trains at each station a little longer to get more people on. It good your researching it so it gives you more then one option so you have more then one way to get their.

Along these lines, if you opt to take a cab to the Contemporary, you might see if the driver will let you off at the guard's gate. It will cut down on about half of the walk to MK. This is probably the fastest way to MK, but be aware that you will have to cross one street (there is a light and a cross walk).

The GF isn't going to much different in cost than the TTC, Contemporary, or Poly - they are all pretty much the same distance (maybe a $1 or $2 at most). The GF is the last stop before MK on the hotel monorail loop, but there is no walking path option if the monorail is down (the monorail goes from MK -> Contemporary -> TTC -> Poly -> GF -> MK).

thanks for the added info plus if you get to the grand and it down you hav the resorts boat to mk as a back up.

Unless something has changed the taxis that line up at the Swan and Dolphin are Mears towncars. I think the fare may be a little higher then a regular taxi but they might charge a flat rate.

Buses start running to the parks at 6:30. They can get you to a park before 7am...as long as you're out there, ready before the first bus rolls in. The monorail doesn't start running until 7am, same with the boats (and they may actually be a bit later in startup).
Just about the only place I would recommend taking a cab to, and from, would be WoWS. That is relatively close to the Epcot resorts...should be about $10 each way for fares.

I would definitely take the bus to AK if you need to be there before park opening. Some days the parking lot doesn't open until shortly before park opening, so a cab will not be able to get in.

If you want to do a taxi I would recomend going over to a Disney resort either yacht club beach club or board walk because their you get a regular taxi. Plus you might need a van to hold all of you. The van can hold 8 adults and a taxi can hold 4 adults even though they say 5 can rude for the price of one. So your best option to mk and ak will be bus because it can hold you all and it free and you will get a friendly safe driver to drive you. You my even get a fellow disboards member to drive you like magicbus or joelkfl or cranbiz.
