hi all -- im a consultant for CTMH and we do full page swaps all the time -- so much nicer then just swapping elements. the hard thing with elements is u may not have the same paper or colors exactly that the person made so your page looks funny. so im asking if anyone would be intersted in swapping full pages -- how it works u make a certain number lets say 10 of the same page size 12x12 u create photo mats, journaling boxes and embellsh...so when the person gets it all they have to do is add their pictures....would anyone be intersted in this? im wanting to do a character swap.....
so like one person would do 10 pages all the same of mickey, minnie, pooh, etc... then send them in and get 10 pages of characters back (one of your own) let me know if any interest -- i really think this works alot better then element swaps -- i have done hundreds!! lol -- let me know if interested.

I am only speaking for myself.

Signing up for 10 12x12 layouts is much more work than I am interested in.

While I agree that matching paper to elements made by others can be a bit of a challenge at times, I don't think my layouts look funny.

I am open to new swapping ideas. However, insulting my present way of swapping is not really the best way to encourage me to try something different.

Perhaps what you meant to say was something like this:

If you like to swap elements, why not give swapping 12x12 pages a try? With just a little bit more work, you can have a layout that is completely ready -- just add your photos! A 12x12 layout eliminates the difficulty of trying to find paper to match the elements. You can get more layouts done and faster.

I'd have to pass on this as well. I like my elements and page kits. Doing 10 full page spreads would be costly.

Personally I have never had issues with matching anything and I've completed 4 books with nothing but swap items. I've not had to make any extra pieces or anything.

The ladies on DIS are VERY VERY talented, they do exceptional work therefore not making it to hard to match paper. If all else fails just use plain colored card stock ;)

Hi Laura!

I think it's really great that you are so enthusiastic about completed page swaps. I've been in a few and found them to be way, way more work and $$ than I was willing to invest for pages that I may or may not use.

I can't speak for anyone else but I think there might be some interest in this type of swap if the groups were kept VERY small (no more than 5) and the topic wasn't one that was currently being run as another swap. For example, right now there is a Character Page Kit swap AND a Character element swap. Few of our regulars are going to want to sign on for another Character related swap right now.

An alternative might be to check out the Swap Calendar to see if there is a space open to host some other kind of Disney related swap - maybe a completed page park swap for Magic Kingdom or Epcot. You will have to go slow with us though because we've pretty much always done elements so completed pages are pretty scary.

Also, you might want to try signing up for a few swaps so that we can all get to know you better. There have been some issues here recently with not very well-known hostesses coming in, starting a big swap and then not returning items. No one is saying that you would ever do this but that is why people are kind of wary.

Anyway, thanks for offering to host a swap here on the DIS. If you poke around, post a bit and get to know us, you'll find that everyone is very friendly. Many of us have been posting and swapping together for years and we always love to see new faces. I hope your trip to the World was fabulously fun and that you have tons of wonderful pics to scrap. Look forward to seeing you around the boards!

For me postage is way to expensive, not just sending the stuff but getting it back, as once you go to 12" the postage racks up to a mega-level - just ask any hostesses who've ended up having to up the size of package for me!

As one of those who had a big (and expensive!) swap purloined by the hostess I would not sign up for anything hosted by someone I didn't know as a tried and trusted swapper. This is nothing personal - I've refused some groups if they had someone unreliable in them - as you can see from my location my overheads are higher (don't get me started on prices for scrap items ;-) ) and having had one lot disappear I'm not likely to risk another.

As the others have said, ths is nothing against you as a person, scrapper or swapper :flower: Sign up for a few swaps, let us see you are timely and reliable, and then make another offer. But do keep the groups small!

By No Means Was I Trying To Insult Anyone Or Their Way Of Doing Things!!! Im Sorry If It Came Accross That Way -- Like I Said As A Consultant We Do This Swaps All The Time! Its No Big Deal Really To Make 5 Or 10 Pages All The Same! The Postage Isnt That Bad Either -- 7.95 Flat Rate Priority Box Works Great -- If You Guys Dont Want To Do That Thats Fine! I Wasn't Trying To Insult Anyone Or Step On Toes!!! I Just Thought It Would Be Fun!!

No Laura, no insults taken. It's just some people are still feeling the sting of the ABC swap gone amuck.

how do you do the 7.95 box, is that the big one? those are like 9 something now right? Do you keep them flat?

I am intrigued by the entire page swap, it sounds like the kit swaps we do here but do you add the base paper to that as well?

Would you be interested in co hosting with someone later in the year if we did a character swap? We can always use character stuff! You could host the swap but one of the veterans could be here as back up.

I'm reading your other post as well, we could do a newbie character swap, for just newbies to the board only, maybe later this month?

I hope we don't sound cliquey or standoffish, that is not our intention. Everyone is just jumping back into swapping mode after the holidays so the spaces are filling up really fast. If there is something you are interested in but don't think you will be here to stalk the boards then PM the hostess and she could possibly save you a spot.

hi there! i think the full pages are great! we could do 6x6 or 12x12 -- and like i said i would rather not be the hostess!! its alot of work -- im currently hosting about 4-5 on my CTMH bullention board -- so if someone else would like to do it that would work great for me. sometimes smaller groups work 2 -- so people can try it and see what they think we could do 2 rounds 5/5 12x12 size -- we can do single page 12x12 or double 12x12 i thought a charcter swap would be fun like....

GROUP 1
pooh and friends

GROUP 2
mickey and friends

they way we do it is send all your stuff into hostess - whatever method u prefer then include a flat rate/priority stamp 8.95, and a return label -- then hostess swaps out using flat rate/priority box -- which are free at the post office -- or i order mine online (also free) and they deliever within 1-2 days.

let me know if u know someone who would be willing to host -- id like to join both groups!

Ok, let me see what and who we have open later this month. If it's small I might do it. I'll let you know, I''m headed out to PTO right now, so I'll be back later.
