We will be driving down to USO saturday to watch the Macy's Parade and the Mannheim Steamroller concert. As Preferred Annual Passholders we can be balloon handlers in the Macy's Parade if we so choose, but we're not interested. We can, however, try to check in one or 2 of you who are. You have to be over by Twister beginning at 3pm. You also have to be big and strong, it's not for kids (they say you have to be able to lift 100 pounds but they will probably just look at you to see if you look healthy enough to walk the parade route holding a rope).
The Pros: your family gets to take pictures of you in the parade. You get waved at by adoring crowds. You can brag to the neighbors. Your role in the parade will get bigger and bigger every year until by the time you're in your eighties the entire parade will have been in your honor.
The Cons: you miss the parade. If you're only there for that one weekend your only memory will be that picture of you holding a rope.
If you're going to be there this saturday 12/4 and are interested SEND ME A PM I will be working, not reading message boards but I will check my PMs. If you reply to this board I won't see it. We'll exchange phone numbers and arrange to meet up.
There is always the possibility we can go there at 3pm and be turned away because some TM will say it's for passholders only. We won a chance to ride the floats in the Mardi Gras parade and they let 2 other people go in our place for that but be advised that there is always a bit of uncertainty. But we can try.
