Anyone Waitlisted for BCV or BWV...

In the middle to end of January? I was surprised that during that slow time of year we'd have a problem switching from BCV to BWV at 7 months.

i booked a studio for Jan 16 and a 2 bedroom from the 17th to the 26th with no problem. I got preferred view for both. Standard was not available. I waitlisted for boardwalk view and it has already come thorugh on the 2 bedroom. I'm hoping to call tomorrow and add 2 nights on to the beginning, Jan 14 and 15 in a studio. Hopefully i will get it. I switched to a guaranteed BWview at the 7 month window (1bdrm) and got the entire reservation without having to waitlist for the end of January.

Well, maybe I need to make a call, yes? I'm currently in a 2 BR at BCV and waitlisted in a 2 BR BWV Boardwalk view. Have been since 7 months and nothing has come through yet. Dates are 1/18-25. Justine, your dates are almost identical, how long until your waitlist came through? I didn't think it should be this difficult in January.

It only took my waitlist about a week. I was actually surprised how quick it was. I did the auto confirm and i got the new confirmation about 10 days after I was put on the waitlist. It was a great surprise because I wasn't expecting it so soon. I'm sure your waitlist will come through for you, too. Good Luck!

We are at BWV from Jan. 1-8. Our stay looks like this (all in a 1 bedroom):

Jan. 1-5 standard view
Jan. 6 preferred view
Jan. 7 standard view
Jan. 8 preferred view

I am obviously on the waitlist for the 6th and 8th in a standard view but as the reservation is now it kind of stinks!

I just added a night onto my january trip BW view with no problem (I had to wait until 7 months to use BCV points). Good luck to you on your waitlist!

I booked day-by-day @ 7 months for BWV 2br standard 1/28 - 2/6 I was able to secure all nights without a waitlist.

I called today to add 1/14-1/16 and was waitlisted for the 14th. I could get a 1 bedroom but no studios. I decided to just pay cash with the DVC discount and skip the waitlist. I though January was supposed to be slow but I am glad I was able to get what I needed. Good Luck again.

Respectfully, it is not uncommon for all of the Boradwalk view rooms and all of the standard view rooms to be reserved before the 7 month window opens - even in January. I'm quite sure there are still Pool/Garden view rooms availabe, though.

The BW view rooms make up less than 20% of the available rooms and the standard view rooms are also about 20% of the resort total.

Your waitlist chances are better if you waitlist for each day individually, but of course, that means you risk having to move back and forth if all the days do not come through. (I assume you do not have enough points to hold on to the entire BCV reservation while you wait for the waitlist to work).
