Anyone waiting for AP rates after 8/8?

I was planning on purchasing our AP's closer to our trip for late August. Do you think that only current passholders are going to get an AP rate? My balance is due early July....I hope we'll all know by then.

You can book with an AP code before you actually buy the AP, as long as you have it on checkin or shortly thereafter to show if requested. Keep watching here - people will tell you when a code comes out, and many are nice enough to check availability/pricing for you on the AP site. Of course, you'll have to make any changes by phone.

Are you saying that I could book an AP rate BEFORE I have the AP in-hand?:scared1:Because that would be truly awesome!!!

Next question, though...

I booked a Room Only ressie yesterday. Can I *change* that to an AP rate or is AP a "room category" that they sell out of, like AAA???:teacher:

Thanks for such great information, although keeping the details straight truly boggles the mind!:sad2:

Good question. I'm also wondering if they run out of AP rate rooms???

Yes they do and often. It's like a clearance sale, only the rooms that are left are discounted. The discount is to help fill rooms. Often not all category rooms are available. Being flexible and have a second and third choice is helpful. A/S Movies is often one of the first ones gone. Many times the choices at the WL are very limited. If you have your heart set on one resort, it can be disappointing. I usually will write at least 3 or more down before calling just so I'm ready for a backup.

Yes, that's exactly what I did. I booked an AP rate at POP. I had MYW tickets that I bought from Undercover Tourist, checked in, went to MK and upgraded my ticket to an AP, and got the AP rate. No problem. (Then I used my TiW card at POP's food court and continued saving right away!)

Dont give up on a code if you are an AP holder. I had CSR booked bounceback for 6 nights at a really good rate. I heard about the 40% off code an called and sure enuff they applied it to my ressie saved $130.00! :cool1: :woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2:
Now I can use that cash to book FRI and SAT night in a value with the AP rate! Hopefully it wont be too long!:goodvibes

I am looking for AP rates for August & Sept. Hope they come out soon. I didn't get a pin code. We never get anything from Disney. :(

I'm hoping the next round of AP rates comes out either tomorrow or next Wednesday! Last year they were released in mid-June for stays in late August-September. *crosses fingers*

When I called Disney last night to change my December ressie, the CM told me that the rates should come out by the end of the month. We shall see!

In other words, she has absolutely no idea.

omgosh! After whining about not getting the AP 40% off email, I just went to the mailbox and found a 40% offer by snail mail! WDW the last week in August here we come!

eta: We just called the # on the brochure and it went to the Passholder Line.

If this is going to be the only way to get the AP discount, then it looks like us Brits will lose out:sad1: *** we never get the emails or snailmails like you do in the US. Ahh well, AAA discount it is.

I wouldn't despair just yet. I'm betting that rates for all AP holders (a "public AP" rate, if you will) will be coming out this summer. It's pretty clear that Disney isn't getting the response to Free Dining or other promotions that it thought it would, so I'd assume that additional discounts are just around the corner.

Bless you....hope you're right!!!

Last year, late summer AP rates were released the third Wednesday in June. If the pattern holds, this Wedesday should be the day! Hopefully there will be plenty availability left, even with all the pins that have been sent out already. There usually is during value season at least.
