Has anyone vacationed the first week of Nov. at HHI? Are the trees turning colors by then? Is it still good weather for the Dolphin excursion, walking around the island? I wouldn't be interest in swimming in the beach, but sitting by it...is it too cold for that? Thanks for any info! :goodvibes

We haven't been at that time. We went once during the last week of Sept and we were able to swim in the warm ocean. I'm sure it's too cool for ocean swimming by November but I would expect that beach walks would be lovely on non-windy days. And the resort's main pool is pleasantly heated. We went in early March one year and had a couple days warm enough to swim in the pool. There's so much to do here besides swimming in the ocean that I think you could have a terrific vacation there in November. Certainly, bicycling, golf, tennis, horseback riding and boating (with warm clothes) are all good options.

FWIW, if you have a non-Disney/non-Hilton-Head timeshare that trades through II, there's currently a 3BR villa available at the DVC HHI resort on the week prior to Thanksgiving. Nice unit with fireplace for an autumn trip. :)

I had an association meeting down there once during that time. We had one day that was rainy, which unforutnately messed with some of the guys golfing as it was windy too.

Other than that it was nice weather.

Did the trees turn color yet? I think fall is a little later down there. I'm sure weather is tricky....kinda looking for a fall getaway withou the cold!
