Anyone used Uber from hotel to park?

We are staying at the Great Wolf Lodge in April and the shuttle is $5 per adult and $2 per kid, EACH DAY. That's steep for our family of 5. And the hotel is 3.4 miles away so not walkable. We are thinking of using Uber to get to and from. If we did this, where would we have them drop us off or pick us up from DLR?

There's a drop off area right in front of the crossway for the pedestrian entrance for drop off/pick up.

Have you considered ART? It may be a few dollars cheaper.

We used Uber from our hotel on Katella to the parks. It was walkable but my daughter had a broken foot and was in a walking boot cast so we were conserving time on her feet. It was $5 and we were dropped off/picked up at the Main Gates (there's a pedestrian drop off/taxi hub there). I would imagine Uber is definitely cheaper than the GWL shuttle. You can estimate the fair on the app. I wondered if drop off/pick up by Uber is do-able at the GCH or even DLH, particularly if you're planning to dine there? I would imagine so.

How old are the kids? Would you need car seats to use Uber?

I wonder if the LA Metro bus runs out there to Disneyland? We used the Google maps to take the bus to Knotts from DL and it was cheap- but we paid per trip it was about $1.75 and kids under a certain age were free.

And when checking your rate on Uber, you should probably check UberXL versus the standard UberX since you have five people. UberX cars only have seating for four. UberXL will send someone with a minivan, or the like, that has seating for more. It has a slightly higher rate, but only slightly.

We use uber almost daily here at home. One of the great things about uber is that it's easy to request a pick-up wherever you are. Sometimes it's easier to find a place out of the fray to get picked up from... pick anywhere, a nearby restaurant, hotel, and have them come there even if you're not staying or eating there... it's just a landmark for the pick up.

When we stayed at Embassy Suites we found the metro to be inconvenient, but we found ART satisfactory. We got passes and it was reasonable . I see the Great Wolf Lodge is farther away so it will be a bit of a ride, but still doable--not sure how it will price out compared to Uber.
