i am considering using some space bags to free up some luggage space-has anyone used these on disney cruises? if you did, was there any problem getting a vacuum with a hose to prep. for departure.

anyone have any problems with suitcases with these in them re. airlines (anyone find their's opened and stuffed back in suitcase)?

any other comments on weather spaces bag worked well (or bad) on vacation would be welcome.

we use the pack mate space bags - doesn't require a vaccuum - we didn't think we could get our hands on a vaccuum for packing on the ship, so didn't take a chance with that style of bags.

We just used 2 gal Ziploc bags. Just sit on them til the air is out and zip up! Much cheaper. Put all undies, bras, socks, boxers, and bathing suits in them.

Yes...use the space bags that do not require vacuum. And the BIG ziplocks are wonderful. I put four T's in a bag, squished out the air. Used it for underwear, and such too. And then it is so nice to have those bags ready for the trip home....all the dirty laundry together and contained.

Another person who swears by packing bags! The ones that need a vaccuum are too big a pain. I used the other kind for most of the adult clothes. The kids outfits went into gallon zip locks. It was SOOO nice to just pull out a bag and have the whole thing in there!

A word of warning though. Be sure to weigh your bags. Things take up less space, so those bags can go over 50 pounds pretty quickly.

good note about weighing the bags-i have two methods to help with this issue: first i mail all but the shoes we will be wearing plus anything bulky someone JUST HAS TO BRING ALONG to the resort ahead of time. for the return trip-since we are going in november i take the summer clothes the kids will no longer fit into nor need beyond this time of year. after i have laundered them- on the last day i fold them up (along with any left over magazines, books and travel board games or water toys the kids no longer want) and put them in a bag marked "help yourself"-i leave them in the cabin.

:wizard: true vacation magic would be to go with empty suitcases (for return souvineers only) and have my stateroom prestocked with all appropriate items of clothing suited to my size and taste :wizard:

So there is a weight limit per bag?

for south west/horizon the lime is 50 pounds per bag or a 50.00 charge.
