I was wondering if anyone has ever made matching shirts for their family to wear to disney. If so, what did you do exactly? Did you use any particular cd to get the images from? Are there certain iron-ons that work best or some other process? I would like to do this with my family for our trip in July. I think it would be really neat to be able to customize matching shirts and shorts for the trip. Plus, making them may turn out to be cheaper because there are 6 of us.

Thanks

steph

Use the iron on transfers made for your brand of printer. I am sure if you posted your question in the crafting forum you would get help with your project.

Hi,
I made 14 matching t-shirts for my family trip in August. I bought plain white t-shirts from Michael's ($3.99 each on sale). For the design, I made a word search puzzle out of each of our first names. As a background for the puzzle, I added a picture of the castle. It came out so cute. I think I used powerpoint to set the design up.

I do them as part of my home business. The best transfer paper I have found (especially for someone new to this) is the cold peel EDPS sells. She has two kinds..I use the one for white shirts..she also has one for colors, but I haven't tried it yet.. Elissa's website is:

She enjoys Disney as we do, and would be delighted ot help youout. Tell her Doris sent you!!

Maybe you could post a picture when it's done? I was thinking of doing this also. I usually just buy us all matching tshirts from the disney store when they are sale. Have Fun!

We made up matching shirts for our trip last June, and I would just add to make sure that you do this WELL in advance of your trip. We put it off and ended up really running around and gave ourselves a bit of a headache. On the plus side, the shirts were really cute (my DDs write a newsletter called PiggyNews and were psyched to have shirts made up) and very inexpensive (Fruit of the Loom white tees). Good luck!!:D

My dh almost always makes T shirts for us when we go. He sometimes scans pictures and then makes them into transfers but the last itme we bought the Disney Transfer kit and used that. We found it at Office Depot I think. They have it for Light and dark shirts. It is a cd so you have lots of things and fonts to choose from.

I have already made matching tshirts for the 5 of us, they are red with a picture of the Walt Disney statue in the MK and above it says "The ******** do Walt Disney World" and below it , it says" Oct 25-Nov 2"
The words are done in the Disney font.
I also made matching tshirts for my DD and DNiece

You guys are the best. I hesitated to post this question originally because I thought that no one else does this but me. Thanks so much for all the info.

Now, when you guys make the shirts do you do pocket size or do you do a big pic on the front of the shirt?

I am for sure going to get the disney transfer kit and try the power point thing. Our trip is in July so I know i need to get started on this right away.

I will also post this on the craft board, but if anyone else has anymore suggestions I would love to hear them.

Thanks DIS'rs

Steph

I just did it 8 1/2 by 11 size for the shirts. You don't want it too small because people would not be able to read it. Good luck. We had fun doing our shirts:D .

My dh has done it all kind of ways. He has done pocket only but mostly does the front although he has done front and back also. I prefer a nice pib transfer on the front so it can be seen well. You could do a big picture on the front and do each persons name on the pocket.
