I was looking at Half.com and found a textbook I have in my closet is selling for over $50. Has anyone sold stuff on half.com before? How exactly does it work? I'm looking for any way to make some $$ for my trip to WDW.

I have used half.com for both purchases and sales and love it. Very easy. Sign up and register a bank account for the money to be deposited into and post your item.

Same here - no problems.

Isn't half.com an affiliate of e-bay?
Which is better for selling books?
half.com or e-bay?
I have textbooks and novels to sell.

The advantages of half.com are that there is no listing fee and your books stay listed until they sell or you take them off. For textbooks that is important since you can't guess what week some schools are beginning new sessions. You have a set price so there is no opportunity for two or more people to get into a bidding war and drive the price higher than you expected.

For me, half.com is best. (Just sold three books last night and will mail them off when I pull myself away from these boards).

I have never sold anything but have bought several discontinued Disney videos. I've never had any problems.

I have both bought textbooks from there and sold many many books on there (mostly textbooks). I love it what a quick and painless way to sell things.Textbooks bring great money. I have never had any issues and have some books on there now. Good luck! :bounce:

I hope that I'm not asking you to give away any trade secrets by asking this:
What kinds of textbooks sell well? I am a total newbie (haven't even started selling yet). I'm just trying to get a "feel" for what sells and and what doesn't.

After reading this thread I think maybe I'll try half.com before I venture onto ebay. I have several VHS videos and novels that I've been saving to sell.
