we're getting ready to upgrade our countertops and backsplash. has anyone used granite transformations?

we're looking into several options, Lowes, local company, etc., and wondered aout this company.

any information will be appreciated.

We used them here in FL about seven years ago. We covered 74 sq. ft. for just under $5000. I have no idea if that's a lot or not, but it turned out beautifully, and when I dropped something on a corner and chipped the granite about two years ago, they came out the next day and repaired it (undetectable) at no cost. It's a light color with gold, beige and black flecks through it, and in spite of our best efforts, there are absolutely no stains, cuts, or scorch marks on it. Almost forgot, the price included an extra-deep under-counter white porcelain double sink with a single-lever tap and separate spray hose. We did have to pay extra for a plumber to install the taps and spray as GT aren't licensed as plumbers (at least this branch wasn't).

I was out of town when they did it, but DDs said they worked quickly, quietly, and cleaned up after themselves. It took two days, start to finish.

When money falls from the sky and we renovate our bathrooms, I'm calling them again for new countertops.

Hope this helps.

We looked into it briefly last year and dropped the idea when they told us that it cost just as much as solid granite. Might as well just go for the solid granite which has much higher resale value.

That sounds expensive to me. I had my solid granite tops with at least that much countertop plus a solid granite back splash (countertop to cupboard) and it was only a small amount more than that. Solid granite will give you a better return on investment. Have you checked solid granite?

We have it and I wish we had done granite or quartz. We put granite in our bathroom and the countertop is shinier than the kitchen and looks nicer. I do like the backsplash in the kitchen. It was going to be a lot more to do that wih granite, but I don't remember how much more.

Holy crud! $5000? I did my whole kitchen(about 150 ft) for $3750 with real granite!

thank you for the replies. we're just beginning to check out our options, and I knew the DIS folks would have some information for us. i'll be checking back for more replies.

thanks again.

We updated our kitchen counter last year.
Here, it costs WAY more than real granite...
And, I didn't like the look of the fake processed granite surfaces.

We went with real granite. :thumbsup2

Yes, supposedly this processed granite is more durable....
But, that didn't begin to justify the sacrifice in costs and looks.

I forgot to mention that the "granite" also included the backsplashes as well as the counter above (like a breakfast bar). We also had done two smallish counters, one on either side of the stove on the opposite of the kitchen, both with backsplashes.

I suppose it does seem like it was expensive, but they had the pattern we wanted and they could do the work immediately and finish it within our timetable. As they say, you get what you pay for, and I feel like we got our money's worth. But cheers to those who can get what they want at the price they're willing to pay.
