Anyone use uber to go from Disney Resorts to Universal?

I heard that uber may be cheaper than a taxi and faster than Mears. Thoughts? Experiences?

I don't use Uber because I'm uncomfortable with their business practices, but many people do use them. They are generally about half the price of a taxi. I would recommend looking into their business practices and deciding what you're comfortable with.

We used Uber to get to Uni and back in January. We actually got both rides free by using promo codes and we were very happy with the service. The drivers were very professional and the vehicles were much cleaner than a typical taxi. One drive even had a little thing set up with hand lotion, mints, gum, etc...which was free to passengers.

We LOVE uber! Cleaner, newer cars. Professional and courteous drivers. Rates are MUCH less than cabs. And the app is awesome! WDW to USO is about $18. Some will caution you about "surge pricing" which is like when a toll road gets more expensive because more people are using it but the app clearly shows if surge pricing is in effect when you order a ride and how much the trip will cost.

And now they are fully sanctioned by the city of Orlando.

A quick google search will give you a lot of articles from reputable sources about their business practices. I urge you to look into it and decide for yourself.

But, speaking strictly for myself, there are a lot of things that make me uncomfortable. I'm particularly bothered by the harassment of drivers from other companies and the way the company has dealt with allegations of sexual assault from passengers.

The concierge can arrange a car for you at whatever time you need it, either requesting it the night before, or that morning.

We haven't used them to/from Universal yet. But a ride from Boardwalk to Contemporary, which was a $25 cab ride (plus tip) was $15 all-in with Uber.
