DH just did our taxes with Turbo Tax online. He did not submit it yet. He is worried he has made a mistake. The past few years we have had to pay, but this time we will get a small, very small, refund. Any experiences with this or recommendations?

Thanks,
Karen

My sitter and her dh have used it for about 8 years. They say they have never had a problem. I am thinking about using them myself.

My dh used it first time this year. He said there is an option called deduction finder, and it tells you things you have not yet deducted that are normal. It takes you through each step so not to miss anything.
He liked it. And this was the fastest we gotten our money back, so we are excited! :thumbsup2

I use it, this is my 3rd year using it. Love it!

I have used it for 5 years now and have had no problems.

We've probably used it now for four or five years and never had a problem and love using it.

Good luck to you.

I have used it for 2 years now.
I also have used it to do many of my families taxes.
I have had no problems.
With direct deposit & Federal.
Pays around 10 days to your account.

I've used it the last 3 or 4 years with no problems. It could be that in prior years you weren't taking advantage of deductions that TurboTax was able to identify for you.

Question, do you download it or do you do it directly online? I saw it both ways and was just wondering.

TurboTax Online is completely online...and it works just like the one you purchase in the store.

I've done our taxes but we can't submit them yet because we're in a hurricane disaster area...I'm confused as to why they haven't completed the changes to those yet.

We're getting back $3400...I'm doin' a happy dance... :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Rafiki, is there some kind of deduction for those affected by last year's hurricanes? TIA

Thanks for the info. Great refund, I don't think that we will get that much but I'll be happy if we don't have to pay.

We've done Turbo Tax...Free File edition...the past three years. DH is active military, so we qualify, but many other filers do as well if you check through the IRS.gov website. We have never had any problems with it. In fact, I highly recommend it. I always do our taxes online, efile and then print the forms later. Turbo Tax also prepares our state form, although that isn't free.

I know when I filled out our taxes on Turbo Tax, they did ask if we were affected by Hurricane Katrina. This leads me to believe that there is some special deduction this year, although as it didn't apply to us, I can't say what it is specifically. If you were affected by the hurricanes, it is certainly worth investigating.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I used them last year with great results and again this year, my return was deposited into my account Friday :cool1: I have no complaints at all!

I used TurboTax Online this afternoon to file DD's first ever tax return. I wanted to e-file but couldn't because I didn't have a PIN from last years tax return (she didn't have a return last year). I'll have to mail the forms in and she'll wait longer for her refund :sad2: . It was very easy to use though, and plenty of resources available if you have any questions.
