Anyone use the You Need a Budget program? Or other recommendations?

I was just looking at this program, and it looks pretty good but I'd love some opinions before I spend the money on it.

I really am just looking for a system to organize our money so my DH and I can both know what is going one with our money at any given time. We never bounce checks or are overdrawn, but we have so many different accounts that it is hard to keep track of them all. Would YNAB help with this?

I've never really kept a hard-line budget, but now that my DH and I have so many different goals, I'd like to start some system to keep track of everything. I also think we've been spending WAY too much money at restaurants, so I'd like some system that would tell us how mcu we have spent throughout the month.

We do not want a cash-based system. We have no problems controlling our spending with debit and credit cards (balances paid off every month) and going cash only would be a huge pain for me.

I don't know anything about the program you are writing about. I use the budget spreadsheet. There are several interactive options.

KarenJ on here is a BIG fan of it, but I haven't seen her around for a while . If you do a search on "YNAB" you should be able to find some of her posts for information.

that will track almost all your accounts. I have our checking, savings, the kids 529s, dh's 401(k), credit cards, best buy reward points on mine. I think you can also do airline rewards etc.

It has a budget program where you can set your budget amounts and you can set it to email you if your at a certain % of your budget amount (or go over). It will also run cash flow, credit card utilization reports, and show you how your spending your money.

The biggest thing is you probably will have to go in and change categories on items as it doesn't always put them in the right place.
