I'm thinking of getting my own and forgetting the cleaners. That will save some money for a DW trip.......

anyone use spray starch? what brand do you like?

My DH is in the military and if his uniform ever slipped off of a hanger it would surely stand on it's own. The brand he uses is Faultless Regular. HTH

I use it all the time. I buy whatever's cheapest. It makes ironing a bit easier, too.

I usually spray DH shirt and iron something that doesn't need starch first so that it soaks into the fabric. Sometimes if I don't the starch sticks to the iron and makes it messy. I use whatever is on sale too. This is one of the things that I did also to save DW money! :thumbsup2

I always use the Faultless brand also, but extra heavy. I have found if you spray the garmet first, let sit a min then go and iron it doesn't get all gooky on your iron. Also if it is slightly damp, it makes it easier to iron also.

Works great, is super cheap, but it takes a few times to get the hang of it.

My husband is military also and he makes his own starch...last longer than the stuff he was buying!!! His uniforms are so stiff the stand up on there own!! He uses ELmers Glue All (not washable kind) and water in a 50/50 ratio....mixes it in a spray bottle...sprays it oon...lets it sit for a while and then irons away!!!
