Of course I am skepical on this issue. I've never used the spary on sunblock before and don't want to find out in the hot Florida sun that this stuff doesn't work very well. This would be sooooooo much easier though, than the regular lotion sunblock.

Your thoughts?

I use it all the time on my kids. I get spf 50 - spray it on them and then rub it in. I then spray it in my hands to apply to their faces. 2 of my kids are VERY fair and it works great on them (I'm talking almost translucent, lol!).

Spray on sunblock is popular, but our dermatologist doesn't recommend it because a lot of the sunblock ends up in the air instead of on your skin. She says that a lotion is best, so that's what we use. Don't forget to reapply sunscreen often and to wear a hat.

I love spray on sunblock! We used it in Florida during our last trip at the end of April and none of us got a sunburn! It's a lot easier with the kids since they never want to stand still long enough for me to rub it all in. I've used it the past few summers adn haven't had a problem yet.

We've been using it for abour 3 years now. It's all I'll use. It's just so much easier to apply!

The only drawback to it is you go through it a lot faster than lotion sunblocks. I'll use a couple of cans a week when we're in the sun a lot.

I use it on 3 of my 4 kids. My 4th is allergic to it:confused3 not allergic to the Neutrogena lotion- just the neutrogena spray?

But we love it.

My son uses the spray-on sunblock at preschool, but he goes through it so quickly! For the family, I use the Dri-Block by Banana Boat. It's normal sunscreen, but when you put it on, it feels like a powder- none of that slimy, icky mess. We love it!

It's all we use anymore, as it's the only kind we've found that doesn't sweat off!

Spray-on is all I use. DD and I burn very easily and I have only had one burn (I missed a spot :headache: ) since switching to it. It dries quickly and isn't sticky so the kids don't get all gross and dirty with it on. I always keep a small tube of regular for our faces because there isn't a good way to spray it on there.

Sprays are the only way to go in my family. I'm super-white and can burn in minutes. I have used sprays, exclusively, for years and haven't even gotten pink, let alone burned. My whole family uses the Aveeno SPF 70. It's a very fine mist that dries almost instantly. You will go through it faster, and it costs more, but the ease of application and overall effectiveness makes it totally worth the extra couple of bucks per month.

I used it in Hawaii and no problems. It is very easy to apply. I still use oil-free lotion on my face.

I know I'm the oddball here but I used the coppertone kids 50 on DS and he has burned each time I've tried. He is fair skinned but he tans easily. I thought maybe I didn't put enough on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd times so this weekend I put him in the bathtub and sprayed him good! He still ended up burnt. Only using lotion from now on.

It is all we ever use. We don't spray directly on the face...I spray it on their bodies, rub it in, and then use the extra on my hands to cover their faces.

Never had a burn!

It is costly and we go through it quickly...thankfully we found Disney Pirates spray-on sunscreen at the Dollar Store...didn't expire till late 2009. Same exact stuff was on sale at Wal-Mart for $8.59. :)

I'll stick to the lotion. Spray-on equals at least a can a week where the lotion lasts longer. Plus I know I have gotten the lotion on every part of the body I am aiming for. My grandkids and I live by the pool and we are all fair. They have not had a burn yet.

My DD is also very allergic to it. I'd try it before you leave b/c she broke out so bad in hives that we ended up in the emergency twice. Once the first day we noticed it and then again about 2 days later. We had no idea what was going on but the doctor said it was just still in her skin and when we brought her in the first time, they had dosed her up with so much medicine to counter act it and then a few days later, it just had a delayed reaction once all the medicine was gone! So if you're going to try it, I'd try it before my trip!!

My DD8 is painfully fair. We live at the beach. She wears an SPF50 rash guard shirt and the spray on Coppertone SPF50. I've never had a problem of it not applying properly. If it's windy, I simply watch where it lands. It is more expensive, but it's so much easier to work with.

I only use spray on coppertone on my extremely fair dd and have for the past two years. No burns and so much easier than lotion. We have also taken two trips to WDW (not in the summer) and it worked fine for us there too.

I love the spray! But to save money when we're at the beach we use regular lotion for our first "coat" and then save the spray for reapplications while we're out. I'd rather use regular lotion on faces and ears anyway, so we have already have both.

For baseball games, Busch Gardens, or just walks to the library where you're just doing extremities, the spray can't be beat.

We also love this stuff. My dd is fair, but tans eventually, so in the beginning of "sun" season, we always use this stuff. I burn also, and this is great, because my dd's can spray my "ahem" hard to reach places..Like my back, :rotfl: when we're at the beach, and I'm free to not have to cover up with a tee shirt, half way through out the day.
Also I love this, because my girls always wear their hair up in the summer and I can spray the part of their hair, so no more sunburned hairlines.

We use JASON family sunblock and it comes in a spray as well as a lotion.

I prefer using the spray w/ kids since it is easier and quicker to apply. We just used it this weekend at the Jersey shore and it worked great! :thumbsup2
