My kids will be working in the college program this Spring (starting in Feb) I can score some cheaper flights to Sanford/Orlando Airport (Especially when a winter Nor'easter pounds the East Coast for 3 days)

Is there Shuttle service from there to the WDW resorts?
How much are Taxis?

PS: Just me, so I'll be carrying my own luggage (1 carry-on)

No shuttles, taxi would be $100+. Best bet is probably a rental car.

I've used a car service in the past, but it's expensive....about $180-200 r/t. A cab will be about $100 each way. I prefer to rent a car. The drive is easy, takes about 50 or so minutes. No true shuttles between Sanford and WDW at this time.

I did find a shuttle: $220 RT !! That's more than the savings if I flew to SFB. Not worth it!!

I'm flying into Sanford this Friday because of a great deal. I am renting from Dollar for $60 for Fri. late to Mon. afternoon.

My daughter did the CP years ago and then went seasonal. Since then we travel about 3-4 times a year down there and have bought a condo about 5 miles from Disney. If you are going down there for your first trip to help with move in and such, I'm guessing you will want a car. There are so many last minute "i forgot that" or "i need this" in which you will be visiting the store for. It is also nice to drive around and see the lay of the land. If flying into MCO there are two shuttle services I have used, Mears and Super Shuttle. Both have good service, I prefer Super Shuttle for they are fairly new at MCO and not as crowded (at least until people find out they don't have to use Mears exclusively.) I believe my youngest used Super Shuttle and paid $45 including a $10 tip for service to our door. This was nice for most shuttles only go to resorts/hotels. If you fly into Sanford I know the drive is about 30 minutes farther. We have been tempted to fly in there due to lower prices but it seems car rentals are higher...and a longer drive. MCO is easy in and easy out. Good luck to your child in the program...my daughter has had a wonderful experience. She works in entertainment costuming at HS and loves it :)

DH and I flew into Sanford in January. It was super easy! We rented a car. It seemed to be the cheapest option, plus then we had it to drive around WDW.
