I am trying to order some toys from the US site for toyrus.com (the Cdn site doesn’t have what I want). TRU.com won’t take my Cdn credit card, even if it’s going to a US address. They do take paypal, though. I emailed TRU last night and asked if they’d take paypal from a Cdn. Their response was, we only take orders we can verify from US addresses. But, will they even know where the paypal account is from? Now, I know I use paypal when I don’t particularly want to give out my credit card info, like ebay sellers.

Worst case, I spend a lot of time filling a shopping cart and then have to abandon it. But if someone has experience or knowledge about how paypal works (if the seller gets your personal info), I’d love to hear it!

I am so not a “Boxing Day” kinda shopper, but have to say I’m itching to see what this whole “Black Friday” thing is about!

You should have an address associated with your Paypal account. I'd think that they'll likely not allow the sale - either they'll see the address as Canadian, or they'll see no address at all. So frustrating at times not being able to shop from a US site when their Canadian version doesn't have the same stock (amazon.com, I'm looking in your direction...). :headache:

Lots of US businesses won't allow you to do what you are saying. We have an American credit card with a Canadian address and paypal with a Canadian address and cannot buy from toysrus.com or overstock.com even to have stuff shipped to the US. It is really annoying that they won't take our money!

There are ebay sellers that won't take paypal if you have an international address too.

I often use paypal for walmart.com - I'll use there site to store and just pick up what ever I ordered when I get there. Sometimes I plan a weekend to Buffalo and I have also ordered things to a Florida walmart (Personalized gifts) and picked them up once I got to Orlando. No problems using paypal but that is site to store so they aren't associating an address with the order.

Your PayPal account will be listed as a 'NON US' account. They also have the ability to block funds from international accounts so my guess would be "NO", you won't be able to complete a transaction with them.

Poop. I thought I had a way around it.

Fortunately the delay has muted my urge to spend. And if my kid still wants "Hagrid's Hut" after all the other swag Santa's bringing, well, he can use his allowance to buy it at the Lego store in DTD in February. :p
