Anyone use Netflix?

We tried it a couple year ago and canceled it two months later, because they kept sending us movies we didn't rent.

I signed up for the free trial. I watched some things streamed directly to my computer and loved it! We will see how it goes. Thanks again!

We use our WII to watch instant movies through Netflix. We love it! We dont watch that many movies but we love watching the old shows like Dick Van **** and such.

OT: I love that you can type dick but not ****.

The DVD's at Netflicks are arriving in bad condition lately. I have not had any problems with the streamlining on the computer, but I love to watch documentaries which are not available on Instant Watch. I have returned a number of the DVD's as unplayable. In fact, I am doing it again today.

Love it, love it. You can set up different queues for different members of your family, which is nice. We do 4-at-a-time and have a queue for each of us.

But I think I like the streaming videos even better. You can stream movies to a computer, XBox, Wii, or a separate Netflix-box. Right now we are watching season 1 of Bones.

:rotfl2: So true!!

Another yes to Netflix. We have the one at a time plan for $9 and use the instant stream thru the Wii. LOVE THAT. My DH is hooked...all those old shows & stupid movies he loves. Wish there was more new stuff there, but I can't complain.

We canceled our satellite and just have our $9 a month netflix. We LOVE it. We mostly watch the movies and tv shows through streaming on our Roku box. For newer releases I watch on the 1DVD at a time I get. I returned my movie today and will have my next one tomorrow. They are so fast.

I agree, we love it. We have the 1 a month and use the streaming constantly.

We introduced our DD to "Fraggle Rock" about 2 months ago and let her watch a couple every now and then and it brings back memories to me of being a kid.

Add me to the list of Netflix lovers. We had a subscription a couple of years ago, but cancelled it because we just weren't watching the discs. Since they've started the Instant Streaming through Wii, we have re-subscribed and LOVE it. I stream to my iPad while I'm cooking or doing laundry, we watch through the Wii, my husband watches on his laptop, we've used it at hotels...it's just awesome. I've introduced my son to so many things that I loved as a kid (and older) like Fraggle Rock, Rocky & Bullwinkle, and, his absolute current favorite, Mystery Science Theater 3000.

LOVE netflix! we subscribed early last year, and since then, our local video store has closed, making the closest video rental store over 20 minutes away, so netflix has been great! sometimes, a video we requested gets sent back before it ever gets to us (can't figure that one out, lol) but i just request it again!

:thumbsup2 Netflix has been a dream come true for a movie buff like me. DVDs come quickly, huge and varied selection and I've seldom had problems with discs having scratches or smudges.

I have a question for everyone. We don't have Netflix. But am interested in the streaming to computers. I have a netbook and am getting both my kids a netbook for Christmas. Of course, those don't have DVD Players so I thought this might be an option. I am technically challenged. Would all of us be able to stream movies on our netbooks and how exactly does that work. Do we need to buy anything extra to do this?? So confused...

Nope, you just log on to the site using your id and password that you set up when you create your account (and choose your membership level). As long as you have wifi, you shouldn't have a problem. We stream on at least two devices in our house most of the time and have never had a problem.

We do have Wifi. I was thinking more along the lines of when we are on a road trip or on a plane. Can you stream the movies to the computer to watch later or do you have to stream and watch where the Wifi is?

What is this about?

No, you can't download them. Streaming works differently -- you don't store the files.

The only time I've had a problem with my Netflix account was when I got a broken disc in the mail. It was cracked right down the middle. Aside from that, I love it and haven't had any issues with it. My parents LOVE the instant streaming on my Wii. We tend to use the streaming at home and I watch the DVDs while I'm at work (I work night shift and have only a few hours aof work to do, but a twelve hour shift).

**** doesn't make it through the censors.

The SICK IRONY here is just much for me to allow me to pass by unnoticed:

Here we are on a thread about movies, and one of the all-time GREATS in television and movies (Dick Van ****) cannot have his name written because of censors. This man is a comic genius; he brought BERT to life in Walt Disney's Mary Poppins, for crying out loud!

What have we become when we feel the need to be politically correct to the point of degrading a person's name?

Sad state of affairs, this.

:headache:
