The movie rental place close to our home just went out of business, so we are looking for a new way to rent movies for the family. Does anyone use Netflix and if so, do you like or dislike it?

LOVE Netfix!!!! It is so great!! and if you have a video game system you can get them streamed directly to it!! I can't remember how much we pay a month, but we can have up to 5 movies at a time and as many in a month as we want. it is so great!!

We love Netflix! We've had it for a year or so, and it's been great. When you drop a movie in the mail, as soon as the postal worker scans it, they send out your next one. So, it's usually no more than one or two days in between movies. You also get access to an "instant queue" as well, where there is a large pool of movies that you can watch instantly on your computer, or else stream to your tv via a video game system (I know Wii for sure, not sure if there are others) or a Roku box. We purchased a couple Roku boxes, and the picture quality is great.
We use Netflix a lot (both mail return and the instant movies), and in fact we've put our cable on hold for a few months in big part because of it. Saves us money, and with being able to see movies and tv shows through Netflix, as well as watching tv shows through hulu.com, we have no real need for cable.

Anywhoo, I highly recommend Netflix!

I love netflix. Getting movies through the mail is super fast. If we drop one in the box on Monday morning we usually get our next movie on Wednesday. I also like that you can watch some movies instantly on your computer or on your TV if you have a Wii or other supported device. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

Love it .It is so convenient and in addition to getting the movies in the mail, there is alot availble for immediate streaming thru our Xbox or Wii system.

Thank you all so much! I think we will give it a try. They let you try for free for 2 weeks too, according to their website!:thumbsup2

We have been members for years and LOVE it! We have the 3 movies at a time plan. Where we live, which is relatively rural, we get a movie the next day after they send it. So if I mail a movie back on Mon, they have it Tues and I have a new one on Wed. I also love being able to stream movies to my laptop. Very handy when looking for something to watch at the last minute. The netflix site is easy to navigate and add to your rental list. We have never had to wait very long (if at all) for new popular movies. The best part IMO is the cost. These days it is almost $30 just for the 4 of us to see a matinee. That does not include popcorn. Netflix is certainly the better deal plus the seats are more comfy and the popcorn is better at home ;)

My DD recently started using the 1 movie plus Wii downloads from Netflix, and loves it! Besides movies, there are old TV shows that the kids just love.

We luv it, I can watch on my laptop the teenager streams through his 360 in the basement and kid movies in the mail is how it usualy works out here.

I've had netflix for over 8 years now and have never had a single problem. I can't recommend it highly enough.

We too love Netflix. The only thing we miss about the video store is running into people in the aisles that we hadn't seen for awhile.

Another thumbs up for Netflix!

Netflix is wonderful - I was with them for years, but left when I went back to school in my 30's because, quite frankly, between full time work & full time school I barely had time to sleep!

Once I graduated, I resubscribed...the streaming thing is fabulous. I actually watch more movies streaming than anything else. I travel a lot for my job (75% of the time!) and hardly turn on the television in my hotel rooms - I just set up my laptop and stream my movies / tv shows while I'm there. They have an incredible amount of movies to choose from - even the streamed offerings are increasing daily. We stream it through our Xbox (and they have a Wii option for streaming too), and through our computers. It is absolutely worth the money! (quite a few Disney offerings too!)

For less than $10/month, less than a ticket to the average movie theater, it's well worth the entertainment investment!

I can't imagine going to a video store. I love Netflix! I haven't even been inside a video store in something like 5 years. And, I used to WORK in one while I was in college, for three years! The whole idea of a video store seems so archaic now...

Netflix is cheap, easy, and convenient. There is nothing bad about it.

INSTANT VIEW IS THE GREATEST CREATION EVER!
and getting movies in the mail is always awesome as well, only problem with it is that my queue is FULL! lol

Now you can get the instant view box for around $99, or you can use an XBox. Never easier. No additional fee for this, it is included in your monthly fee.

Through the mail is great as well. You can also stream some movies on your computer (usually the older ones), but still a nice feature.

:thumbsup2

I can't say enough good things about Netflix. Started using them when I was on bed rest when I was pregnant with DD and DH was away for Army training. Haven't used a video store in years. We recently scaled back from 4 at a time to 2 at a time becuase of the instant viewing. The instant viewing is amazing!!! It has definitely been worth it lately. DH and I both had surgery recently...his planned and mine not so much but since we aren't really leaving the house lately we can just sit back and catch up on the shows that we love but might have missed due to our normally crazy schedules. The kids love being able to use the Wii to watch kid shows instantly. We also have a Roku box in our bedroom and our Blu-Ray player is the one we normally use when we watch it in the living room. The keep adding new stuff to it so we never seem to have a problem finding something that someone wants to watch.

We use our WII to watch instant movies through Netflix. We love it! We dont watch that many movies but we love watching the old shows like Dick Van **** and such.
