From a complete techie dumbo (I am blonde you know!) I need some help, is anyone familiar with it?

I have used it - not for a while tho'... What do you want to know? :sunny:

Ha Ha , you'll wish you never asked! I have created my library and have 'enrouted' the tracks but I can't see any way of directing them to my USB???? v v v confused - only bought the darn thing cos Callum wanted an mp3 for xmas and I didn't want to give him one with no music on!

OK. When I download from Limewire the tracks show up on iTunes. If I have an mp3 player connected that should show up on iTunes (or its equivalent) too and then you drag and drop. That's how it works for me anyway...

Thanks, I don't have itunes, should I get it? I'm really dumb about this, and just thought it would be a straight forward, pay your money, select your song, click download and off you go! sounds like its a bit more complicated than that!

Carol ~ I find ITunes to be very user friendly. You can download a copy from here

I use I-Tunes too Carol, it's very simple to use :thumbsup2

I think you dont understand what Lime wire is..Its a file sharing system only you dont pay for any tracks..by loading lime wire onto your comp. you are offering the contents of your music/videos/photos/programes to other lime wire users and you have access to their comps for their content..

There are of cause security issues which you would need to put in place and there is also copyright problems.. I find it usefull for downloading USA TV programs ie LOST

Ah ha! all is becoming clear now - told you I was a thickie :rotfl2: thank you all so much!

:sad2: When i USED Limewire it might have given me a virus i found on my computer, Luckily my dad finally got it to work properly and he's not letting me download it now :sad2:

That happened to us as well..

I use it occasionally but i don't share the tracks ive got as ive switched the sharing option off, it can add alot stuff onto your pc though and has been known to slow things down.

My mum won't let me use it either, cos it puts spyware stuff on the computer and when we took our PC into PC World for a check up they wouldn't touch it because it had limewire and bearshare on it. Mum deleted the programmes but the man in PC World said that they would still probably be in the computer somewhere and could still cause problems, and the only safe way to get rid of them would be to do the Recovery Disk thingy which wipes everything off your computer and takes it back to the way it was on the day you first got it. Mum hasn't done this so fingers crossed that nothing bad will happen. :confused3

I would like to use it to get some Disney park audio but I just won't risk it with all the stuff it does to your computer. There's plnty of websites I can use and if I really can't find something my sis has it so I can just use her comp - she doesn't seem to care!

Ok, thanks guys, I'll heed your warnings about limewire. Have downloaded itunes but still can't see any way of getting it actually ON the mp3???? it says you have to click on 'music' then 'sync music'!! I don't get any 'sync music' coming up???? can't see any way of getting it on, am so fed up with the whole damn thing it seems so complicated

Carol ~ Normally when I am adding songs to my ipod. I plug in the ipod, up pops Itunes and it does it automatically.

I've just realised ~ If you are using an MP3 player and not an Ipod, it might not work.

ah ha!! there we go then, now, am I the only person inthe world with an mp3 rather than an ipod? I take it I'm not but this whole thing is getting so ridiculously complicated :confused3

Carol, I've just grabbed one of my colleagues who has an MP3 player, sorry Grant :rotfl: He puts his songs into Windows Media Player, plugs his MP3 player into the computer and then copies the music into that. He says it is very easy :thumbsup2
