I'm thinkin of buying the heavyweight 5.2 oz flannel sheets from Penney's, but don't know what kind of quality they are. I have the 5 oz weight from LLBean now, but Penney's are a good price. Anyone out there have the Penney's flannel sheets? Do they seem good and sturdy? Do they pill? Is the elastic going to hold up for a good while? Thanks for any responses.

Sorry, I can't help you but I'm going to bump this up before it ends up on page 2.

We use Lands' End flannel sheets and love them, but I will bump this up again for you.... hoping you can get a response from someone who knows.....

We have 3 different sets of flannel sheets. I don't know where I purchased them from, they were not from LLBean nor Lands End, but I know some were more expensive than others. One set may have been from Spiegel, Fortunoff, or Eddie Bauer.

They all shrank on me. 1 set shrunk a lot. The others didn't shrink as much, but we didn't use them as much. Flannel or not, I wash my sheets weekly. When not using flannel, we usually use 100% Egyptian cotton sheets, & I've never had a problem w/ them shrinking.

I haven't tried LLBean's sheets, but ironically, I was just considering purchasing them. I know that LLBean is a very customer oriented retailer. I was also just wondering if their flannel sheets were going to shrink like the others did. Did your LLBean flannels shrink?

Just something else to think about. Depending on how much the flannels shrink, they can become pretty frustrating &/or useless. :(

We have JCPenney flannel sheets. Bought them a couple years ago, so I don't remember the weight, but I know they were not cheap at the time! (if that helps) Have not had any trouble with them pilling. As far as the elastic, they seem to be so-so. But I have alot of trouble with fitted sheets staying on our queen size bed.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I'll just go with the LLBean flannel sheets. I've had really good luck with mine and the elastic is great. Plenty of room for those oversized mattresses!

Pooh93:They sell deep pocket sheets now, which might help, or you could try those clips w/ elastic that help hold the sheets on. I had to use them for my flannel sheets. They add time to making the bed  , but so far they work.

This is the first year I am using flannel sheets and I bought them from JCPenney. Not sure of the weight, but I do know they were around $50 or 60 for queen size. My DH loves the sheets, I get too warm with them on, however I have noted two things I don't care for. Number one is the elastic is a little too loose for my liking and I haven't been able to shrink them at all, number two, they don't pill on the surface, but when I take the sheets off the bed I have a ton of little flannel balls underneath. It sounds like I should try LL Bean or Land's End.
