If so whats your experience?:smokin:

They seem to be the rage in my office. Funny to see people 'smoking' at their desk again.:lmao:

Electronic cigarettes look like real cigarettes only run on a rechargable battery, and you use a Nicotine cartridge in them. The vapor smoke looks real and they even light up on the end.:lmao:

All people who have switched to Electronic Cigarettes in my office swear that they stopped smoking regular cigarettes.

Anyone here use them? They are legal in the US, but not Canada (:confused3) and you can even smoke them on Airplanes, at your desk...anywhere.

Here is a An AOL video

no but i am using the new Electro crack pipe. Its all the fun of crack without the missing teeth and weekly beatdowns by the local cops !!

just kidding of course, i just cant believe that its come down to electronic cigarettes, if you seriously have to go that far, you REALLY need to think about quitting. that is just insane in my opinion. I have quit Ciggs, so have lots of other people, its not THAT hard if you really want to. Trust me i have quit things MUCH more difficult to kick than ciggs, you can do it if you really want to . No more cyber ciggs !!

haha

I dunno, there are about 7 people in my office who all just stopped smoking!!!!:goodvibes

Thanks DIS UNC :) I have tried to quit 4x's now and I really need to now. Especially since the cigs have gone up $10 a carton today. This sounds like it will take this oral fixation away. I looked really funny smoking a straw. :rotfl:

Quitting smoking was the hardest thing I've ever done. I battle with it every day. I could really go for an electric cig right about now. Its better (relatively speaking, of course) than a real one with all of the additives and chemicals.

oops....meant to start a new thread with that one. I wondered where it went. lol

I was thinking the same thing, I'll take one of those njoys, but.....I don't have that nicotine addiction anymore and don't want it back again.
Saw that bumper sticker this morning. Who would put that on their car? Seriously!?!?!?!:scared1:
WTH? Have you been smokin tunaslayers virtual crackpipe? :rotfl2:

If it helps you quit smoking, more power to you! :thumbsup2

I was speeding because I really have to Poop!

That's what happens when you smoke too many cigarettes - coffee and a cig really get you going, according to my MIL.

I've seen the electronic cigarette kisok at the mall for a while now, but I also read recently that some state is halting sales pending an investigation into the company's business practices or something like that. And there was an article recently in the paper about them, and how they have not been tested so there may be health risks, so use them with caution (or somesuch).

Can't be worse than a real cigarette!

I wonder if people who are 'allergic' to smoke react to these as well.

I just told my step-mom about these. Maybe they can help her.

I haven't seen people using them, but their kiosk at the mall is always very busy. I have seen them on Amazon - think they're cheaper there than the mall.

Havent seen or heard of them.... but I"m wondering..if they have the nicotine cartridge or whatever....how is it really 'quitting'... I sooo wish my DBF would quit smoking :sad2:

Interesting concept, but what will the fed do without all the money that cigs and other tobacco products generate. :confused3

We saw these the other day at the mall and went and had a looksie. I quit smoking when I got pregnant, but DH still smokes and I thought this might be a good thing for him to try. He doesnt seem too interested though.

I cannot imagine anyone smoking one on their office and that being okay though. I know there is no second-hand smoke and no danger, but with my company, I bet that would be a no-go.

It's a toss up. The Dr.'s I've seen interviewed on these say, you don't get the tar and chemicals in regular cigs, but you get 100% nicotene; which is bad for you. He said in the regular cigs you get a filtered nicotene.

I would say if they could filter down the nicotene more, it would be a winner. This is of course just what I think with the interviews I've seen. More studies would have to be done for me to be convinced. I don't smoke, so it's not a big deal to me.

Why put the word "allergic" in quotes? And if the "smoke" is not real smoke, then why would people with smoke allergies react to it (unless they also have an allergy to whatever is in the vapors)? :confused3

If these reduce the second hand smoke, then I'm all for it! Go ahead and continue to do whatever you choose with your own health! But I'll be glad not to have to breathe it in! :thumbsup2

Please direct those of us interested to where you viewed these interviews with medical doctors discussing the electronic cigarettes.

As for the nicotine not being filtered: nor is it in nicotine gum and patches.

I have also used Aeros cigarettes: simply a plastic tube that you 'snip' the ends off, then drag on like a cigarrette (has nicotine inside; no vapor or smoke). Once you get a blast of that nicotine, you will not feel like smoking for a while (indeed, it is so strong I bought plastic filters at Walgreens to stick the tube in, hence reducing the nicotine blast).

If they react to this, then they are allergic to water. Just vapors...BUT looks real.

There are various degrees of nicotine cartridges that you can get. Strong, mild, light or none.

Tax These!

The best way I can describe it to Disers is that is just like the Vapors on the POC ride when the boat goes through the image of Davy Jones.
