Anyone use Dreams Unlimited opening day?

I am trying to plan ahead for booking Alaska 2022. We will be booking a placeholder this year. We usually book through Costco. However, booking with a placeholder with Costco to be used on opening day with a popular sailing makes me nervous
I am thinking although the OBC will be less I might not be as anxious opening day with Dreams Unlimited.
I just know I will be so anxious opening day waiting around to see if someone else got my rooms. I would just book myself but the extra OBC or Costco card will be so helpful bc Alaska is going to be $$$$$.
If you used Dreams Unlimited opening day this year what was your experience? When did you hear you were booked? I am just nervous about falling through the cracks and not hearing anything all day.

I used them for Gold opening day the first time on Wednesday. The reservation was showing in the DCL app within 30 minutes of the phone lines opening so I knew that I was booked in the room I had requested. It took a couple of hours for the email to come through from the TA but that is understandable because she was obviously very busy but I was impressed with how quickly she got us booked.

We booked on the Thursday (Silver), it was seamless and the email correspondence was swift from Beth.

An excellent service throughout.

We booked with DU on platinum day with a placeholder and got exactly what I wanted. Booked again on gold morning with a placeholder for family. Got the exact cabin first thing. opening day always reinforces how great it is to have a TA. As always things went smoothly (for me) while my TA spent hours on the phone. She sends out quick emails throughout the day to update her clients. Plus you can check your dcl app to see if you have a reservation too. Kristie always does a great job!

Dreams are tops. You should have no issues getting what you would like spending your CC tier. Just give your agent a heads up on what you would like and be ready to respond. I would also have a B and C option and a second date chosen in case it sells out fast in the higher castaway club tiers.

remember if you plan to book with DU, your placeholder needs to be assigned to them within 30 days of buying or chose an agent now and have them transfer the placeholder to them upon purchase onboard. My placeholders all go straight to my agent and I get an email copy of the transfer. I’ve seen too many times people don’t know this

If you used Dreams Unlimited opening day this year what was your experience?

Not this year, but we have used them in the past and it worked out well. Got a response from them later in the day as to what they were able to get (exactly what we asked for) and the price.

I used Dreams, Kelsie got my cruise booked and the room I wanted using my placeholder. It was booked before noon on Gold day.

I send her an email with what I am looking to book and she sends a confirmation that she has received my request. On booking day I check my DCL account off and on during the morning and can see when the cruise has been booked. Kelsie sends out an email with the booking info in the afternoon.

The Costco card is tempting but in my opinion not tempting enough to spend the day on the phone hoping to get the room I want. I have used Dreams since 2012.

I used them for platinum opening day on Tuesday. I had an email before 9:30 am! I certainly did not expect one so early as I know they take care of all the changes they need first, and then email the clients, which makes sense of course. From previous experience I can say for certain, even if you do not hear from your agent until later in the day, that does not in any way mean they aren't taking care of what you need. They are working feverishly to take care of everyone, so don't worry.

my TA says platinum day is normally their lightest day. My TA was done booking ours much faster than expected. Maybe 30 minutes after the lines opened. Though when the new ship comes out, platinum day will be crazy.
