Anyone use dining plan with child under 3 that has allergy ?

We will be on the dining plan and my ds is only 1 so he will not have the plan.He has an egg allergy.I will just pay oop for him at counter services when needed and at table services too but how does it work at buffets-can I get him an egg free kids option-like chicken nuggets and do I pay for him because it says under 3 can eat off your plate but he can't eat my food.

I haven't faced this exact situation but from what I've heard Disney Chef's will do all they can to accommodate your requests.

A friend of mine has a son with Celiac disease and almost every single chef comes out, visits their table, asks their child what he wants and then makes it for him.

I'd be surprised if you'd have to pay OOP purely because your son has a food allergy.

At buffets, children under 3 are free admission, period. Whether you're on a dining plan or not. The kitchen should accommodate allergy requests without even blinking.

Make sure the allergy is noted on the ADR's. The chef should come to the table and find out what your child likes. If it's a buffet, the chef will walk the buffet and tell you what is safe.

The only restaurant I had trouble with was Coral Reef. 26 ADR's and that was the only place the chef didn't come to the table. It may have been the servers fault as he wasn't very good and asked me if I needed the chef. We had more than just this problem with him.
