Does anyone have any experience using bestfares.com? They charge $59.95 to use their services on the internet and I'm wondering if they have access to anything we can't find out about right here with all us WDW /travel fanatics who check airfares, car rentals and resort prices daily? Does anyone else do that!!??!!

Wow...I guess that is a resounding no. Those forums do not leave much room for discussion just a big NO. I thank you very much since you just saved me at least $59.95 and probably a lot of aggravation! The Dis comes thru again!!!

Your welcome...glad to help out.

Here are some links I use to research and keep on top of sales.

1st off, you can subscribe to the fare watcher at www.travelocity.com which will e-mail you when a fare drops below a certain level.
Only problem with this is by the time you get the e-mail, sometimes the sale is over (as some sales only last a few hours or a day.)

Travelzoo lists airfare specials

Snooze you loose listings at bestfares.com which is free for anyone to use. They usually list sales which are really good deals and usually don't last long, so check here daily.

Dream maps at travelocity.
lets you input your airport & price and tells you where you can fly to.

Orbitz is a very comprehensive site owned by the airlines which shows you virtually every flight and option.
If you've narrowed your flight search down to a particular day this site is very good at showing you all available options and it is always current with info unlike travelocity and others which sometimes list sales which have expired.

If you are interested in a particular airline, it does not hurt to also check their site as they often have sales on their website only which are not available anywhere else.

Yeah, thanx for the great list. I noticed you had
"AirTran". Never heard of it...any info about this
airline?

Airtran is an airline with its corporate hq. in Orlando, but is based mainly out of Atlanta. They are a low-fare carrier like Southwest Airlines. They fly older DC-9's which used to belong to Valujet (with whom they merged) and brand new Boeing 717's which they are purchasing and phasing in to replace the fuel-guzzling DC-9's. They used to have a couple boeing 737's also which belonged to Airtran before the merger.

I have flown them once (on a DC-9) and was happy with the flight. The biggest plus they offer, is any city which they serve ends up having lower fares overall (just like cities served by Southwest airlines.) However, if people do not fly them and support them, they will pull out and start service to another city (like they did in Des Moines, IA. - pulled out a couple years ago and now serve Minneapolis/St. Paul instead.) Fares then went up in Des Moines as competition was eliminated.

They also do not offer meal service (same as Southwest). They do, however have pre-assigned seating like all other major airlines (except Southwest).

one more thing about Bestfares. I called the other date about a rate that I saw posted. They gave me the rate and asked if I wanted to book. I asked about the schedule and the airline and they said they couldn't give me the information at that time, and asked if I wanted to book. This might work for some people but it is too restrictive for me in most cases.

ValueJet? ValueJet?
If AirTran is formerly ValueJet, then
I AM STAYING AWAY FROM THEM!!!!:(
