This post it two-fold. First, to let poeple know about the "turning leg caddy" and other knee scooters. Perfect for people who are recovering from a foot or ankle injury/surgery. Look them up if you're interested.

Secondly, has anyone used one? Amputee's especially? I'm thinking about renting one for my Mom for general use because her prosthesis doesn't always fit and she's tired of being in a wheel chair.

Can you rent them anywhere in the Orlando area like ECV's?

Is this the sort of device you're talking about? http://www.roll-a-bout.com

If so, my dad has used this one on & off for the past few years and has been generally pleased with it. They do have rentals now (per their website), though I can't say that I'm personally familiar with them for that purpose.

I have visited, along with my dad, their location in Delaware when his needed adjustment. The head of the company was very nice & seemed very helpful. Best I can do, I'm afraid.

Enjoy the Magic!

Yup, that's the basic idea. The TLC has turning handlebars (as the name implies) and a hand brake. I'm going to rent one for her today and see what she thinks. It will get her up out of her wheel chair and make her regain her balance and get some exercise. If it works out really well for her maybe we'll take it to WDW instead of her wheel chair and then rent an ECV for park usage.

I'm hopeful!

Hi Ducky4Disney,
This is my first post on this awesome site! I wanted to tell you about my experience with the TLC at Disneyland. My neighbor had her 3rd foot surgery and needed some cheering up so I took her to Disneyland...as any good friend should do!:thumbsup2 I was a little concerned about how the trip would go since she was using the TLC, but oh my gosh! We had such a great time! She just zipped around everywhere on her scooter, and we were able to do everything and go everywhere! I wish I had one to keep up with her! She was stopped by lots of people who had never seen one before. Eventually, I would just keep walking because I knew in just a minute she would come zipping up next to me! She was so impressed by the TLC that she became a distributer for them. If you're interested, you can give her a call. She ships them all over the country for people to use. Personally, I think who ever invented the TLC needs an award! You can call her at 530-518-7931 if you have any questions.:earsboy:

Oops...I forgot to mention...My friend's name is Janet. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post her web site for th TLC but if anyone is interested you can email me.
