I was thinking about getting on, something I can do in the evening while watching a show to burn some calories, and it's cheaper than a treadmill. But a friend of mine told me steppers make your butt big! I can see it getting firmer, and I'm thinking if it's firmer it would be a little more "out there" rather than sagging (which I think is a good thing LOL) but "BIGGER"?
I saw several 'mini steppers', really small so they can go under the bed and they're under 100 bucks.

Don't believe everything your friends tells you. :)

Lisa? Does this put stress on your knees? I've always wanted to try one of these, my imagination has run wild with the possibilities. Doing this while I clean vegetables in the kitchen or while I talk on the phone. Don't watch much television.

The pads in my knees are worn and you can hear the decrepitus when I bend them sometimes (isn't that an ugly word--decrepitus?)

I suppose I could just try one, they couldn't be that expensive. I could always give it to another WISHer if it hurt my knees.

Thanks for mentioning this :) Will you be joining us here on WISH? I could use you in my support group, you have wonderfully creative ideas :)

I'm not sure. I would imagine, because of the climbing motions, but not as much as, say, walking or running, because there isn't the impact. But I'm not a doctor, and don't really know.

I would really love a treadmill, but I think that would just be too much money right now.

Oh, I come and go LOL I'm a lurker mostly. I tried joining a get-fit before pregnancy e-mail ring on aol and got a lot of attitude after they saw my picture, everytime I posted something I got a lot of "why are you here, you're skinny" "I wish I had your problems" kind of stuff. I want to drop maybe 10 pounds and firm up the rest and become healthier through exercise and having a better diet. My weight doesn't bother me so much, now, as the fact that I am density impaired. (cellulite bothers me too LOL) Yoga and pilates is really helping with that though.

ME? LOL Oops....were you talking to someone else?

Yeah, I use a stepper. I stick it under my broken garage door to keep it open while the football game is on.

Works great!

I bought one several years ago and thought using it would help to strengthen my lower back. It made it worse....... finally sold it and 1 1/2 years ago bought a really good treadmill - quit going to the gym and use is most every day. DH is a runner so we got one that he could run on in winter - paid mucho but it really has been a really good thing and I doubt that I will ever be without one. Also, I love just getting my Oprah tape going and doing my thing........ definately need something to watch to make the time go faster.

So that 's my infomercial and cast my vote for a treadmill!
