We usually don't eat in our room (except maybe pop tarts or nutrigrains for breakfast, or food from food court that DH gets while we are getting ready). We try to save money by sharing meals or eating at counter service, etc. Anyway, I do bring my lunch to work. I try to avoid the kitchen area at work because I have had my lunch "stolen" many times. So I bring something to keep on my desk (no refrigeration, etc.) Here are some things I bring.
You can use the microwave in the food court.
1. Cans of soup or stew
2. "Bowl Appetite" or something like that. It comes in a plastic bowl and you just add water and microwave. They have rice with veggies in chicken sauce and pasta alfredo. I think there is one more type but I don't remember.
3. Do you eat spaghettios or raviolios? I like the raviolios if I really don't have anything else.
4. Pasta anytime. These are shelf stable and you just microwave.
If you have a frig in your room (I didn't notice where you were staying), your options open up even more. You can have lunch meats, cheeses and chips, etc.
My recommendation is to bring breakfast items (pop tarts, nutrigrains, boxed donuts, fresh fruit - like apples or bananas or oranges) and eat that in room. Then share items at counter service places or share at sitdowns. The portions are huge at sit downs!!! Or order an appetizer for your meal. Stay away from buffets, usually, as they are set price and more expensive than sharing. Although if you have big teenage boys, then maybe buffets will fill them up??? Also bring snacks for late in your room or by the pool - like chips, nuts, etc.
