Anyone use a cheap umbrella stroller at WDW?

You may want to check out craigslist sometimes you can score a great light weight stroller for the same cost as a cheapo!

Hi.. I have used an umbrella stroller both times I have gone to WDW with my daughter. I first used it when she was 3.5. She is now 5 yrs old and about 38 pounds but very tall. The stroller we bought we absolutely love. It goes up to 50 pounds, has storage basket on bottom, 2 cup holders, and a zip up storage pouch for sunglasses etc. It was worth its weight in gold at the parks she fell asleep in it both times. It has gone on a cruise with us and all over the place I have also used it on a plane and was able to gate check no problem. It is lightweight and easy to use. We bought it at Walmart and it is a Evenflo brand. 2 years ago it cost about $45 dollars but it might be cheaper now. Best of luck.

Oops I almost forgot. My husband is 6'1 and he is able to push this stroller for me as well. The handles are higher than normal. Have a great trip

Thank you everyone for your replies. We decided to just haul our Sit N Stand because we have found it is not too bad pushing it around with two of our kids in it and the bench seat comfortably seats my DS9 who is on the autism spectrum, is only 48lbs, and has low tone issues with his legs which makes it hard for him to walk for long periods of time. Our DD4 still fits comfortably in the front seat of the Sit N Stand, so that will work for her. Also, the Sit N Stand has a nice storage basket underneath which we will need since the Maclaren one is very small. We are still bringing the Maclaren Triumph for DS2 since he is so attached to that stroller. We originally didn't want to haul the Sit N Stand, but I guess that is the trade off we will have to have in order to avoid spending $$$ on another stroller we really don't need to buy or have the discomfort for both us and DD4 by trying to stroll her around in a cheap stroller she is too big for.

the cheap stroller will hold up its the weight will only effect the push of the stroller.

OMG....we did this our first trip. DD was a bit too heavy and it was HELL trying to get the wheels to cooperate!!!
I wanted to chunk that thing in the trash!

The next trip we just rented the stroller and it drove like a cadillac compared to that umbrella stroller!!

I have done the cheap stroller. Never again. I like my lower back and sanity too much.

Here is a link to a Volo. Tall handles. Handles bigger kids like a dream. Folds up tiny. Has a carrying handle.

No recline, small sun screen, and no drink holder.

I concur! Unless you're no taller than 5' 2" your lower back will ache after a few hours of pushing a cheap stroller ~ DD's Disney stroller *she's 7 and hasn't strolled outside of Disney for years* is the Volo ~ it's awesome.

If you change your mind with the sit and stand, I would recommend a Britax Blink. You can get one on albeebaby.com for $75 which includes shipping. It retails for $150 and is comparable to (& some say better than) the Macs.

I have to admit that when I see a child slumped over in one of those cheap umbrella strollers, I shake my head. I just can't see having a child be uncomfortable for the sake of saving some money or saving a few seconds of getting on and off a bus.
