Anyone use a Britax B Ready at the parks?

I am debating on which stroller to take...our Maclaren Quest or the Britax B Ready.

Both definitely have their ups and downs for park use.

My concerns for the Maclaren Quest is the terrible storage space and canopy. While I love how lightweight and portable and narrow it is, I wonder how comfortable my 16mos daughter will be in it sitting for a few days.

We also have a Britax B Ready which I LOVE because she sits up higher, when she's in the seat she doesn't slouch as much, the basket is huge and the seat can reverse (sometimes she just wants to see her momma instead of looking outward!).

But I don't know if the luxuries of the B Ready will outweigh the size/lightweight-edness of the Maclaren.

I'm a little intimidated to bring the B Ready because it is a bit wide (26 inches).

I'll be 30 weeks pregnant when I go, so I won't have to leave it in stroller parking much either.

Any mommas out there that can help???

I would say it depends on the type of traveler you are (carry little buy lots, carry lots and buy little for example). We use a double Phil & Teds, not a lot of capacity and we are carry little, buy lots type travelers. Don't worry about the size of your stroller, Disneyland has room for anything and to be honest the bigger the stroller, the more room the crowds will make for you. It is nicer having more storage for purchases and water if you want to bring it. The only downside is the monorail and train where you have to fold your stroller....the rest is all stroller parking.

We're kinda in the middle...we don't buy a whole lot and don't carry too much (well considering we have a 1 year old!).

I was going to look into renting from City Strollers and getting a Baby Jogger City Mini, but the width between those and my B Ready is only a 2 inch difference (with the B REady being 2 inches wider). Other than that, they are pretty much spot on.

Really I was concerned about getting through the crowds and into restaurants/food areas.

We rented a City Mini Double from City Stroller Rentals and I was worried about the width cause I use a front/back double at home, but it wasn't an issue at all. Your Britax should be just fine!

You won't really have an issue with the crowds and the stroller, there are lots of huge strollers there and its fine. A few minor tight squeezes in stores and during parades, but its also nice to have the "space maker" to keep people from crowding you.

I would chose the Britax. You will need the large tires to move from the different payment types and you will find it much easier to push than the Maclaren. The only thing that would worry me is if you have to fold and carry it. Like if you need to get on the train. It will be heavy when you are pregnant. Do you have someone to help you?

Absolutely. My husband will be there as well as my parents, two sisters and brother in law. We're headed that way to visit my Niece who just started the college program!

So I'll have lots of capable hands to help hold my 1 year old (who will be 16 mos when we go) and to help with the stroller (as ill be 30 weeks pregnant when we go!)

Thanks for your input!

I plan on taking a b-ready with me next summer, but because I will have the second seat on it since my youngest two will be 36 months and 21 months by then and I don't want to push a huge stroller. We have five kids total and are a big enough crowd as it is. lol.

I have the B-Ready. I essentially bought it FOR our trips to DLR. (before that I had a city mini). Yes, it is a beast, it is a bear to fold up on the monorail and the train, but not enough to be a dal breaker. It folds AND fits on the tram from the parking lot, the train, and the monorail. We have four kids our youngest now 2. The adjustable handle height, the huge storage, large canopy, and the comfy seat for my son make it all worth the slight inconvenience. My favorite feature is the recline while facing me so I can see when he is taking a nap....comfortably and not wretched over with the sun in his face. I am not a big ride rider, but the hubby and older kids are and having something comfortable for me and the babe to stroll around the parks in, the B-Ready would get my vote.

You will probably only see a couple there. On our last four day trip I only saw three.... One was a gorgeous green. (Mine's a ho-hum shade of black) :P

HTH

This makes me feel so much better! To be totally honest, I bought this stroller with future trips and children in mind (i bought it when my daughter was about 6 months old, when my Maclaren just wasn't cuttin' it!).

The first time I saw it was actually in DTD and I stopped a mom and talked to her about it. She had it doubled with an infant above and her toddler who was comfortably SLEEPING in the second seat! I was sold and knew I needed to have it.

I totally fell in love with the storage basket and the canopy immediately (being in AZ, an adequate canopy is a must).

I also have 'boring black' lol. I almost got a fun color, but decided not to because I was afraid of getting sick of looking at a pink, or green or red stroller. Because I know I'll be using this stroller for years to come. Especially with #2 coming in July!

Thanks for making me feel better about bringing it for our trip :)

I'm also bringing our B Ready for our trip in March. With a 2 year old and a 7 month old it was our best option. I'm happy to hear that the size won't be an issue. I'm guessing there is some type of stroller parking outside of restaurants and attractions. My only concern is how safe these are, although I've never heard of anyone losing a stroller :goodvibes

I am expecting in July too! (#5) :)

As far as parking the B-Ready at restaurants... If babe is comfortable, I bring it in and it doubles as a high chair (that I don't have to unload when it's parked out of sight). Cafe Orleans is TIGHT, but we are able to get in with the stroller without disturbing other guests.

Ps. I bought four of these little clamps that I have on my stroller to attach gift shop bags, sweatshirts, baby's favorite blanket, ect... to the stroller. It really helps keep things organized and from getting an uncontrollable pile to rummage through in that huge storage basket :)

Ps. The Pirates of the Caribbean exit is at the Blue Bayou entrance. Park there and it will be ready for babe as you exit the ride.

There was a ring of thieves that where selling stollen strollers on Craigslist a couple years ago. I haven't heard anything in a while but IMO- A little personalization goes a long way. Ribbons, the clamps I mentioned in pp, a pile of sweatshirts in the baby's seat. You want to make it more of a pain in the rear to make it "one in a million" than its worth.

I would bring your bigger one. You want you and your little one as comfortable as possible while in the parks. We brought our jogger and even though it was a bit of a pain to get through security at the airports and transportation to hotel/parks we were sooo glad to have it during the day!!

love using my b ready at wdw. love the bigger basket and how it glides like butter. one hand steering a lot easier with this stroller
