There's a new tanning product out there by Sally Hanson Nail company. It's an aerosol can with the tanning solution. Has anyone tried this yet? I've done sprays and lotions, but didn't know if it was worth the $9 for the aerosol one. I did the spray tan from a tanning salon last fall and liked the color I was, but at $50, not something I'm going to do again for a short trip.

I saw the Sally Hanson spray last week and wondered if it worked also. If anyone has tried this yet, please let us know as it sounds so wonderfully easy but it does seem a little pricey at $9 while all the other pharmacy tanning products are less.

Do the tanning sprays (either professionally done or do it yourself)ever turn people orange? I'd love to splurge before a wedding I'm going to in May, but I'm afraid I'd turn Oompa Loompa orange! :scared1:

I bought it tonight....Will let you know tomorrow!

I have seen a few peopel go orange but the Mystic tan is the most natural spray tan around. I myself like the electric tan but the mystic is great in a pinch. Don't forget spray tans do no prebent you from burning. :D

I haven't tried the Sally Hanson one. I've used the lotions, and they aren't too orange.

Bump- I hope she comes back to tell us what this ones like.:sunny:

Okay..

First of all, this should NOT be used as a self tanning product. If you are very pale, it is going to look like you took your foundation and a sponge and put pancake makeup on your legs. It is intended to even out skin tone and make legs "flawless."

I am already pretty tanned, and I bought the "light glow" formula. I sprayed it on my feet which don't tan very well, and it immediately covered evenly and matched my legs. But it looked TOO perfect. I guess I am just critical, I had my nose about two inches away checking it out. My husband couldn't tell that I had the spray on there, he just said my right foot now matched my legs and the left one was still white.

So I moved up and did my calf...It looked good from a distance, but I think it made my leg look too perfect, again.. it's hard to describe. I am going to try it for Easter Sunday and see if my mom says anything. If anything is wrong, she'll point it out from twenty paces.

Again..maybe I didn't notice any drastic improvement because I already have smooth, tanned legs with no visible veins or freckles or scars. I'll post a pic of my leg and let you see what you think.. I don't think it looked orange at all!

Nope, from what I could see it looked pretty natural to me. :D

tidoublegger - I did the Mystic tan in November. I'm normally very white-especially my legs. It turned my legs a nice color, not orange. It's made from a sugar solution so it turns your skin whatever color it normally gets when tanned so it's very natural looking. Just be aware - the first time done you usually need to have a couple different applications on successive days as they may not cover all areas on the first application and will be splotchy. The 2nd application did even things out. It's costly - around $50 here in Western Mass and very few places in this area do it. It was fun to do once, but for the $$$ I'd rather use a tanning lotion as I have fairly good luck with those.

MScott1851-Do you think the Sally Hanson spray tan would be okay on a pastey girl like myself? I was planning on using the lightest shade, but don't relish the thought of streaky legs. Did you have to spray it on and then rub it in? Would it be easy to overspray and be blotchy? Thanks for your info.

MScott1851~ the color looks great...thanks for posting back! I am somewhat fair skinned. I am curious as to what your answers to Snoozan are! I have the same questions!!

Snoozan and Gail T~ I'm noticing a trend here...I think us MA girls are wishing for some SUN!!:sunny:

I did rub it in on my feet. It says to spray on and blend well...so where it sprayed on thick, I just smoothed it out. You then have to let it set for about two minutes before you get dressed. The best part is NO odor! It didn't smell bad at all.

It looks really natural on my paler feet, but only because my legs were already tanned. Also, where it has faded on me, you can't really tell, because it didn't make much of a color change. I think that if you were very very white, it might show if it did fade. It was $8.74 at Walmart, I justified buying it by NOT buying any junk food and bringing a sandwich to work tonight instead of eating out.

I would definitely try it, but I don't think that it would be a good choice to spray ALL over your legs to get some color for a Disney or beach vacation, for example. I used it on my calves and feet for a NIGHT out just for kicks, not for a tanning product. Plus, at night, even if it did look funny, it would be dark and no one would notice!

Okay, I may try it for a dark event, lol! Just in case it looks weird. I also swim so much (indoor pool) that it probably won't last too long.

Thanks for the recap!:sunny:

I did not like it at ALL! It was unlike any other self tanner I have ever used. It was very powdery looking. Yes, it did look like foundation...with tons of powder all over it. And, it all washed off in my bath a few hours later. I don't think it is suppose to last a few days like the others. I will not use it again, and am mad it cost me so much.

That's what I meant, Disdreams.. It's NOT a self tanner. It's to even out skin tone...

I laughed.. it looked like the old Max Factor Pancake to me...

LOL! Yes, pancake make-up!! You know, I read the whole can and it does not say that it is a temporary (until you shower or bathe) product. It says it is long lasting and wont rub off. I was just reading the ad for it in a magazine tonight, actually. It's misleading. Although, when it says it looks like pantihose, they are correct......like those UGLY old lady unmatching colored hose! EEEEEEKKKK!! And, my feet and hands were horribly blotchie.
