I had researched this quite a bit.. and finally started Labor Day of this year.
Since then.. I am down over 30 pounds, and maintaining wonderfully
It is not for everyone, and I do advise a LOT of research (like I did for several months). It is great for people like me with a few medical conditions which just do not allow weight loss. No amount of exercise and dieting worked for me.. I worked with a dietitian and endocrinologist, followed a strict regimen, and could not lose anything. It was literally 2 pounds a month maximum- and often that could be accounted for with clothes, time of day, etc. So really, nothing.
I had about 60 pounds to lose, and now half of that is gone
I am going to work on the rest in December.
I have been monitored by a dr as well, and she is VERY impressed.
You will read a lot that you are "not supposed to" exercise on hcg, but I introduced walking/running and cardio (not much weight lifting though), and I believe it helped me lose (and lose the right fat), and is helping with the maintaining.
Eta: I was NOT a believer when I first heard of this. But I know too many people for whom this has worked.
I have maintained for 3 weeks now after the low calorie portion... and I am eating more than I ever ever imagined (good fats, low carb).
The first phase for maintaining lasts 3 weeks (which for me is tomorrow), and after that I am going back to low(er) calorie to try to lose a bit on my own now- which may be possible with my new level of metabolism.
Before, I could not even eat 1000 calories without gaining. Now, I can eat well over 2000! Which, at my new weight is a LOT of calories. For my weight and height, the calculations you can find online indicate I should maintain around 1600-1700. This is fabulous! I am hoping that a "normal" diet will now work for me- but I would not hesitate to do one more round of hcg to lose the last 30.
Oh and one last piece of advice: there are a LOT of different types of HCG out there. I did homeopathic drops. I started with my first bottle of drops from an expensive website (around $80/ 2 oz). I then ordered the remaining 2 or 3 bottles to do a long round from amazon- around $12/ 2 oz bottle. They worked just as well, if not better.
My goodness! I don't know why, but the "e" was replaced with a "t" every time I tried to type "lose". HAHA I just had to go through and edit the "lost"s to "lose". Thanks spell check!
