We're looking at all of our options. We are going in May. Here's our thoughts- we have 2 adults, two teens and a toddler. The length of stay passes sound fine but the toddler definately won't be doing it all. In fact we probably will hit the parks 5 days (going for 7), hit Universal one day, and then have the extra day for whatever. We thought about just getting the toddler a smaller pass (probably 5dayplus). The price may/may not be that much different but at least if she gets tired, we could use her ticket (if she has any left over) on another trip. The length of stay passes we are sure won't be used every day by her.

My question is this: Has anyone ever done this with your family before? When you're going through the turnstiles do the cms look at you funny if you don't all have the same passes? We know the teens will want to do some things by themselves and we might want to enjoy ourselves at the resort with the toddler.

I'd appreciate any advice, and may much pixie dust fall on you!
Minnie Thanks!

To be honest, I would not recommend doing the LOS unless you did plan on using them everyday. Since obviously you can't leave the toddler in the room, that isn't going to happen if you are only getting a 5 day for the babe. You might be a lot better off getting the rest of you a 5 day also, specially if you definitely plan on one day at Universal.

PS - How old is the toddler? Young enough to be free instead of paying?

As long as you don't hae two different family members try to use the same pass on the same day I don't think the gate CMs care what type of tickets you have.

I am a little confused. All of you have LOS but the toddler. Toddler has 5 day.... so.... when all of you are at park who is watching Toddler. Why don't you buy the parents 5 day passes also, wouldn't that be cheaper?

CarolA,
Thanks for responding. We thought about just the parents buying 5 day too, but....we don't want to limit our time with the teens too. Sometimes dd does something with one, sometimes dm does, while the other spends time with the toddler back at resort. Hence my question. Would it be better to get the toddler a ticket that could be reusable. I really don't want to limit one of us as parents not being able to say go to DisneyQuest with a teen while the toddler is napping.

Am I making sense?

Yes, and I can see your point.

Have fun.

Children under the age of 3 do not require a park pass. Is your toddler less than 3 years of age?

I sure wouldn't buy a LOS if I were going to skip a couple days at the parks. Do you realize you will be paying approximately $200 for your Disney passes while you're at Universal? Get hopper pluses for everyone and just pay for Disney Quest -- I'm sure you'll still spend less $.

As for your other question, as long as you have a pass, the gate people are not going to care what kind. It doesn't matter to them if you have an AP, your dh has a hopper, one teen has a LOS and the other has a one-day pass as long as the admission media is valid.

Thanks tar heel,
But with the DisneyVisa deal it would still be worth getting LOS passes. Only going to Universal one day. Make sense?

I could be wrong, but I thought that if you went with a package (disney visa deal) that all members of your party had to have the UPM. Does anyone know more about this???

It always used to be what Renessa said, everyone in the party had to get LOS or UMP's as they are now called. I find it hard to believe, no matter what the package deal, that it is a better deal to be paying for the UMP day at WDW and then also paying for admission to Universal :confused
Whatever you decide your trip will be magical!!:wizard:
Have fun!

Maybe they have the new disney visa package that includes 3 free days for the price of 4. If so, then they are not paying to both Disney and Universal.

If you're doing a package, then the toddler will have to have the UPH pass.

When I've gone with my children when they were young, even when we didn't spend all day at a park we spent at least part of a day. We do the baby swap for the bigger rides or one of us will go to a play area with our youngest child (my kids are boys 4, 10, 13 and a 16yo daughter, so we have to do the ride juggle a lot).

I have no idea if you are allowed to get everyone UPH except for one person. You'd need to contact WDW and ask for their official policy.

Since you have two teens, I would plan on spending 2 days at Universal since there are so many wonderful rides for teens there. Each park really takes at least a day. There are also lots of things for your 3yo to do, especially since you'll be there when it's hot. My standard question is how tall is your 3yo? That will determine the rides that she could go on at any of the parks.

I would then look into getting 5 day hoppers for WDW, maybe with a plus feature. That way if you wanted to go to a water park or Disney Quest you'd be covered. If one of you stayed back with your 3yo you would both still have that extra day or plus feature for another trip. Also, your whole family might decide to spend a whole day at a water park and then your whole family would have an extra park day for the future.

That would give you the flexibility and would probably be cheaper. I think that the UPHs are great for a family who plans on spending all their days at WDW, including time the days they check-in and check-out.

I guess I didn't really answer your question, either. Sorry! :o :teeth:

You have to have UPH for everyone in your party. Do you ever plan on going to WDW again in your lifetime? If so I would just get everyone separate tickets. I have used http://floridaorlandotickets.com/ in the past to purchase tickets. They have a 7 day ticket with plus options. The pluses work for water parksor disney quest. The never expire, so what you do not use just save for future trip. Last trip we had the 7 day ticket but never got around to using the plus options. We plan on using them on our upcoming trip.

This way you can get the tickets you want for each member of your party and not have to worry about losing days on them.

What package is Disney Visa offering for LOS passes? Is it the one that I have heard everyone complaining about having to be a NEW Disney Visa cardholder? If so I am bummed. We will be going over Thanksgiving and we are still undecided as to what kind of passes to get. We will be staying in a 2bedroom at BCV with 4 adults and 2 children. We may want to just sneak over to Epcot to eat ourselves around the World Showcase. We have only bought LOS passes one other time. The rest of our trips have been Hopper plus passes. What to do?

One more question?

Does the Los passes and the Hopper Plus include Disney Quest?

I've seen so many comments, I can't tell. And I looked in my passporter and Birnbaums book and it tells you of the sports complex but I never see Disney Quest mentioned.

Minnie thanks again:wave:
