Anyone traveling Delta

For the second time mine has changed. We are going December 22-29th, and on our return flight the layover on the new flight was 5 hrs. I just got off the phone with Delta, had a very nice rep, asked if there was something that could be done, we do have to leave about an hour earlier from Orlando, but we only have an hour layover.

4 hours in Atlanta but I am hoping that it will be ok. I think I would rather a long layover that running and maybe missing the connection. Last time we were in Atlanta the electric went out and we were there for hours but the kids slept and it was a nice break for us all. We are on the last flght out that night from Atl to Orlando so this long layover should make sure we dont misst eh connection.

The big issue with Delta at the moment is that they are trying to redo routes, retrofit the Song planes, trying to get solvent. It's annoying to say the least, but hopefully, when all is said and done, Delta will be able, and willing, to provide better service. I do understand the whole tweaking of routes and that sort of thing, but to take an almost full plane, cancel that flight and then try to get those people on a different flight that is already 1/2 booked is just insanity.

We had a 7:35ish flight and now it is 5:00ish....I work. I can't make that early flight. That is why I made the later flight. They now only have the 5:ooish flight non later. I think that is terrible. The 5 is the latest out. They also took away the direct flights...I paid extra for a direct flight. I am just happy the lady we spoke to was so nice even though there was nothing she or I could do.

He doesn't like change.
Hmmm... that's a bad creed when mixed with mass-market airline travel. Ability to adjust to change is critical for a satisfactory experience.

Guys, it isn't just Delta
Amen. This is mass-market. If someone was doing it better, everyone would do it better.

Thanks so much for posting this. I went and checked our flights for our California trip in September (on award miles) and they had us getting into Atlanta around 9:00 PM with a 7:00 PM connecting flight back to Orlando! Uh, no, I don't think they've perfected time travel in Atlanta yet ;) I got on the phone with the Delta people and got the flights corrected. Our Vegas trip next year got changed around too. Frankly, I'm happy with all our changes - they worked out to be in the right direction for us.

I did have a terrible time with the phone rep - I wish Delta hadn't farmed it out to an Indian call center. I had to ask the guy to talk louder at least a couple of times! One suggestion: if you don't like whet they offer you, tell them it won't work and ask what else they have. He tried to stick us on the red-eye at first and I told them that wouldn't work and then he found something closer to our original times.

Sometimes it is easier to just hang up and call again to get a better rep.

I've tried that....they didn't get any better!! It drives me insane...I always wonder if everything is going to be fine when I get to the gate. I'm just never sure they understood me or that I didn't understand them correctly. Today, the rep asked if there was anything else he could do for me, rental cars, hotels, anything...I told him no, we were all set. Silence for about 10 seconds and he asked again...is there anything else we can do for you today m'am? Yep, it makes me nervous. JetBlue is going to be getting a lot more of my travel money...flying them in Dec. I just hate having to wait for them to open their travel windows....and they still make adjustments as well.

Mine are still ok for Aug, so far 3 changes by 5 mins only. Plane is not filled there, and way not filled back.. so a lil concerned and keep checking!

I have found if you ask for a supervisor, you ususally get an american from one of the United States call centers.

We're flying Delta in October. I just checked our itinerary online (I check it every few days) and noticed a schedule change ..... yet again. (I bought these tickets back at the 331 day mark in early December.)

Now with the change we arrive in Cincinnati at 8:30am and our connecting flight to Orlando leaves at 9:10am - only 40 minutes to catch the connecting flight (before the change it was 55 minutes). I've never been to the Cincinnati airport - I'm hoping it's small! At least we don't have any wee ones with us .... it's me, DH and DD (9). And, the plane is one of the small ones (less than 40 passengers) so hopefully we de-plane quickly. I have a feeling we're gonna be running through the airport like OJ Simpson did in those Hertz commercials!

Oh, and this is not the first change and I have never been contacted by Delta. They have our telephone # and e-mail address and sure don't keep us informed. I'll just keep checking things on my own.

Thanks for the heads up. I checked our flights for April and things changed including the seats. We are a group of 11 travelling, so we want to be together. I called and got a friendly person and everything was set.

We are flying in October from BOS and our seats changed as well. No longer 757s. We are now on MD-88 and 737. I too called and got a rep that I could not possibly understand so I hung up and called back. Got someone just as bad but tried to deal with it. He changed our seats so my wife and I could sit together. I hung up and looked online. My wife was booked in aisle F. Guess what, there is no aisle F!!! Had to call back and got another one from the foreign call center. He moved us to an exit row so we could sit together. I expect to have to go through this several more times before we leave. That's it for me and Delta. All my miles are going to Southwest or JetBlue from this point on. It is not worth the hassle.

Well they have changed my flights 3 times since yesterday morning :confused3 But at least it looks like they are done for a while.Glad I checked this morning, they had the 2 little ones sitting in the back of the plane in seperate seats next to someone else. Like DH said, think strangers wouldnt mind sitting next to my 2.5 yr old??Thought about leaving her there, lol :lmao:
But for the time being I have seats all together at least. Major problem was my SBN flights, looked liek they changed the times around and on my CVG they changed equipment to a bigger plane that leaves earlier.

I tell you what, me and the Delta website will be a daily friend from here on out!,lol

Good luck everyone!!

Debbie - I hate the Cincinnati airport because of the transfer over. When you get off of your first flight, you'll have to take the bus shuttle to get over to your connecting flight. It takes some time this spot to the other so I say when you get off, book it over to your next flight!!!

omgosh, dont say that, our connection at CVG is 30 minutes :sad2: we will have 2 ity bitty ones......ok now am scared..........

Just got off phone with Delta. I noticed today that we were rebooked onto other flights - the flight home was ok, an extra hour in Disney is never a problem. But the flight from Bos-Mco was an hour later - really didn't want to lose any time on the first day. They were able to switch us to an earlier flight - I had done the research before I called and knew just what I wanted. Other than a very long wait before someone took my call, I had a very knowledgeable and understandable representative who handled it quickly and easily and I've already received email confirmation of the changes. Wonder how long till the next change.
