There has to be someone on this board who would know how long they run for. I'd hate to hog them, so I'd be checking the laundry room constantly, which would be a shame too. Hope it is not a silly question!

If I remember correctly, according to what you are washing or drying (whites vs colors vs darks) I believe that the washer or dryer tells you how many minutes when it starts, then the clock counts backwards. That's how a lot of people would check to see how long before a washer or dryer would become free. I brought an alarm clock for the cabin and would set it for 5 minutes before the load was to be done.

Word of warning. . . .we did laundry twice. Even with our small loads, we had to run the dryer three times to get everything completely dry.

I don't know about the washer,

but the dryer is 20 minutes for the first dollar (required to start)

and after you start it, you can get 5 more minutes for each quarter.

I was only drying stuff that was hanging first in the stateroom for a couple of hours and a 1/2 hour was enough to dry all of the load.

Don't hold me to this, but I think I remember the washer to be about 32-35 minutes to wash.

And yes, the dryer was 20 minutes for the first deposit of coins.

Thank You to you all!!.

I think I am going to be a 'pack light, do a wash' vacationer for a change, so the info is greatly appreciated!. This time next week I should have enough to visit the laundry on the Magic.......can't wait for even the chore part, sad or what? LOL!. Cheers :)

The machines tell you exactly how much time is left.

I did four loads, and the dryers got almost everything dry on the first run through. I had to do about 10 minutes extra for a couple pair of jeans, but everything else was dry the first time through. Some things I even took out early.

I think one of the reasons some people have to run the dryers for two and three cycles is that they are overstuffing them. They are not as big as your average washer/dryer at home, and only hold half to 3/4 of the laundry load.

Both the washers and dryers have a digital readout that tells you exactly how much time is left. I did one wash load last week and the washer started out at 37 minutes although by my watch it took about 44 minutes to finish. The dryer times semmed to be pretty accurate. You really don't want to spend to much time in the laundry rooms waiting as they get incredibly hot when there are several machines running.
