Okay, to me, this is the height of obsession. My DH, (hi honey:wave: ) who doesn't know I'm writing this and sitting across from me on his own computer surfing the DIS boards, just finished watching Toy Story on ABC. Now, I know in and of itself this does not sound too abnormal. BUT we own Toy Story on laser disc and dvd and my not quite 2yo dd requests to watch "buzz.....buzz....buzz....buzz....buzz...(:rolleyes:you get the idea) everyday, all day. We have probably watched this movie just about every day too! He continued to watch this movie even after my dd went to bed...why? To hopefully catch the new "Magical Gatherings" commercials that are out. He is watching a movie on network TV that we could recite word for word for the commercials!

The kicker is, he missed the one he wanted to see most (Mission Space) because he was reading the DIS. The fact that he even knows what each one is about is scary in itself!

I just had to share. I'm sure some of you can relate. ;)

[Edited to change my original post from saying "Magical Beginnings" to "Magical Gatherings". DH just informed me of this mistake. Obsessed, I'm telling you.]

Don't you know.

Movies you have on the shelf are always better when you watch them on network tv. ;)

I thought everyone knew that little secret.

relate? girl, i could have written your post!

dh and i watched toy story (yes we own it on dvd) and both had our laptops surfing the dis, he on the couch, me on the loveseat.

whew! i'm glad we're not the only nuts out there :hyper:

edited to say we popped 'monsters inc.' in the dvd player after toy story :p

But DD and I are upset because we are from a very small family and can't even get close to getting a "Magical Gatherings" together!LOL

But we did love the MS commercial! Hope he gets to see it soon!

This reminds me of my DS's total obsession with Beauty and Beast, when it first came out on VHS. He'd watch the darned thing over and over, day after day.... Funny, I seemed to have no problem watching it along with him.

DH & I were just saying the same thing! Perhaps we could be a DIS family and qualify for Magical Gatherings! :grouphug: Annmarie

Well, it wasn't over a Disney movie, but last night my DH came home just as Channel 205 (HBO here) was showing Harry Potter meeting Professor Quirrell for the final showdown.

Cast: DH (in the kitchen/LR doorway)
Me (on the sofa)

What's this? he asked
Channel 205
What's that?
HBO
HBO 2?
Guess so.
It's not a DVD?
Nope
Don't we have the DVD?
Yup
Haven't already watched this?
Yup (3 times in the theatre, few times with the grandkids, couple times by myself, also on HBO before not to mention reading the book 5-6 times blah, blah, blah)

I'm just back from the press event and have good news for the smaller families: Magical Gatherings is for ANY size party. Basically it's a new name for some of their packages, with some cool additional online planning tools (very similar to e-vite) that will debut the 15th.

Now the caveat... some special features and planning services are only available to Grand Gatherings - parties of 8 or more. That includes the special events (safari/Harambe dinner, fireworks cruise, dinner and Illuminations reserved viewing, etc) and the advanced planning services (semi-concierge for help with PSs, etc).

Most of it is available to parties of any size, and the online planning stuff is available to anyone who registers on the Disney site, no matter if you've got a package through them or not.

Yeah, I've got it just as bad. I think I've just about worn out our vacation movies from last year. The Disney Channel, well lets just say it's on at least one TV in the house all the time. Maybe we need a Disney Anonomys group.;)

um, this is kind of embarassing to admit, seeing as how I am 40 years old . . .

I know all the dialogue from both Rescuers movies, The Emperor's New Groove, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Aristocats, most of Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I have memorized all three Disney's Greatest Hits CDs.

I saw Finding Nemo 4 times in theaters - and would have gone more but the spouse said stop it now. . . .

. . .but it's at the cheap seats still. . .and out on DVD in 18 days.

and yes indeed, we were watching the same Toy Story broadcast and watching for the commercials as well.

It's so nice to know I'm not alone - - and that even my spouse knows I'm not alone!!! (I printed out this thread)

Please don't let my wife see this thread. We are nearly as guilty as the rest of you. But we have only one computer on the internet. If she sees this it is going to cost me another connection :p

Our house now has wired and wireless networks so everyone can surf the dis on their own computer. Our weakness is for Monsters Inc. and Tarzan. :smooth:
