Anyone think that 6 nights is to long at AKL?

Just looking for opinions on who has stayed this long, we only plan one day at AK, we are a MK family but kids want the savannah, looking for the right mix of nights.

Thanks
RayJay

We stayed 6 nights too & didn't want to leave. There are so many activities for the kids; we didn't get to do very many...needed more time.

Thanks for all the quick replies, nobody was unhappy with the bus service?

I've never even been to the AKL yet but the AKL has it's own bus service. As in the busses are not shared with other resorts. The aim of that was to make the transportation quicker since the AKL is a bit more remote than the other resorts. As far as bus service reviews have went (that I have read) they are mixed which is pretty normal for most resorts.

exellent bus service--rarely longer than a 10 minute wait and usually less!! and about the 6 night stay at akl--don't worry, the longer the better!!! ::MickeyMo

Dh and I (sans children) stayed 3 nights this past fall. This was not nearly long enough. Originally, we'd planned on splitting our May stay (with children) between AKL and another resort. Ultimately, both dh and I decided to stay all 7 nights at AKL.

We stayed 10 nights once and it was just fine, we are planing on going back this summer and staying 8 nights. The bus service is great. Never a complaint from us.

We stayed 3 nights on our last trip, and that was really no where near long enough. This summer we are staying 6 nights.

we did 3 nights in november and it was plenty....

the idea of zoo animals outside your window wears off after a few days. then the long bus rides take over. Glad we did it one time, but will not go back.

We thought the bus service was excellent. Direct service to the parks. Only time it was crowded was at the end of the night coming back from MK.

We just returned yesterday from a six night stay and I wish I was still there. It is just so much more relaxing than any of the other resorts.

The buses were great. It really doesn't take very long to get anywhere except Downtown. That was a long trip. The buses only pick up AKL guests. We never had to stand and didn't feel like we were in a cattle call like we did at the Epcot resorts, POR, or All-Star. I've stayed at AKL five times now, alway at Easter(huge busy time) and never had a problem with the buses. I really can't understand all the complaints but I guess you can't please everyone.

This good news, yes you were at a busy time, we are going in July (while it will be during the 4th) I'm hopeful it will still be OK with dedicated buses, my real concern was it going to get to boring (can't even believe I'm saying that) for the kids.

Thanks again

We just returned from 4 nights there at Easter break. We did have a bit of a problem with the bus service, but the problem was handled very well. One day we were at the bus stop at 6:25 am to go to the extra hour at MK. MGM was also having early entry. Thier bus didn't come til around 7 am and ours didn't come until 7:25. (My husband flagged down the MGM bus nad asked them to radio in for a MK bus for us.) When it finally came, not everyone fit on because there was such a large crowd wanting to go to MK. THe bus driver was not pleasant and when my husband told her how long we'd been waiting, she said, "Well, that's only around 45 minutes." We missed the whole extra hour. Management was very responsive when we told them what happened. They made it right, and we didn't have any more bus issues. (And every other bus driver was great!!) The ride to MK is LONG, though.

I also found the resort to be beautiful and peaceful, but very dark (even the light bulbs in the bathroom are dim---good if you don't want to worry about how your makeup looks...) and not the bright, cheerful atmoshere that I like at other Disney resorts. The pool was not as exciting for the kids (boring slide...) as CSR, Swan, and BC. THey did have a great time doing the Hidden Mickey search!

I would say that a few days there was enough for me. I don't mean to be too negative--and I don't want to get flamed by all the AKL lovers because I DO see the appeal of the place--but I wanted to give you both the good and the bad.
