Anyone think MGM will become a Pixar-based park?

After the Pixar acquisition, with Lasseter in imagineering helping with theme parks, I think this would be a great move. I don't think they should make wholesale changes (some things MUST stay), but they could easily transition into a more Pixar-oriented park. I tried pulling up the satellite image for MGM on Google, but there wasn't good information. You can see EPCOT easily, but MGM is fuzzy. Is there room for expansion?

Lasseter will be a HUGE asset to Disney. And wasn't there a pending schism between Disney and MGM that I read about somewhere? There's a poster here who is an expert on MGM, I think with "gold" in his/her name and a website out there.

I would imagine that Disney's California Adventure would become a Pixar-based park before Disney-MGM Studios. DCA already has "A Bug's Land" section based on A Bug's Life. They also have the Block Party Bash (a parade) based on all the Pixar movies, and Turtle Talk With Crush.

With such a strong base already in place, if I had to guess one park becoming Pixarland, it would be DCA.

I sure hope not. That would ruin the whole entire point of the park. It's supposed to be about movie/animation studios. It's bad enough they closed the animation studios and now give a tour of nothing. Think about it - Stunt Shows, Big Budget Films brought to life, Movies and Music, the old Monster Costume/Makeup Show, the old ABC Studio. With Pixar, this whole concept is lost. That's why it's the "Disney Studios" and not the "Pixar Fun Happy Hour." I say keep it the way it is and add more references to film history! :) Pixar rides and attractions belong in Magic Kingdom anyhow.

They also have the "Monsters Inc." ride there and rumors are that an "Incredibles" ride is next and a Test Track inspired "Cars" ride after that so yes it looks like DCA will become Pixarland.

Thank you. I knew there was something else Pixar-based there, but I couldn't remember what it was. And I now recall that they have Mr. & Mrs. Incredible and Frozone signing autographs right outside Mike & Sulley to the Rescue. And they really sign, not stamp, their names.

I think an Incredibles attraction could be a lot of fun. It's my favorite Pixar movie.

wow - pixarland AND the original tiki room, now that might be just enough to get my butt on a plane across the country.

i would love more pixar things at MGM. don't kill the old hollywood theme, just perk up some areas of MGM that are seriously lacking. that park is never a full day park for us. i love the street performers though. they make it worth spending time there.

lori - You and I are in complete agreement. Adding Pixar themed attractions could do for attendance what EE has done at AK, without getting rid of anything. That's why I asked about the possibility of expansion. The MK is what it is. There are enough Lands. MGM is the perfect spot for Pixar theming.
